Title: Typical theif behaviour
Post by Alicia on 03/09/03 at 19:23:57
Just saw an attempt by someone to steal gold by waiting till there are no staff are online then yelling in arilin they were selling a hally for 60k. I went to the bank and saved the log of the 'trade' so if you see someone saying things like this, it is more than likely a thief. (Ive replaced the theif's name with 'x', method_man was the person he tried to rip off)

Method_Man yells from (Hidden): need staff
x: nah
x: will take too long
There are no staff online to help you at this moment

what happened to me a few times and what i consider thief behaviour is when a low lvl (apprentice/journeyman) sells things like cpa/sgs/aop/hally. i never trust them after my gold and item got stolen once (i ahd a screenshot of the event where it said price/item and characters were on it and i had a text log of the event so jlh gave me my stuff back i suggest you ppl do the same when you have a trade you don't trust but give the guy/gal the benefit of doubt) if this is enough to convince you jlh?

why are you protecting the thieves name? is it because he's a clanny, a friend, or you? if someone stole from me, i would post his name everywhere

I didnt think it would be appropriate to name someone for this incase my crits got deleted for slander or something.... But since JLH agreed with showing thier name, the guys name is joey_wheeler

i would definately recommend never buying anything from anyone way under lvl for the item, i.e. a halberd from a lvl 10, or a crystal ring from a lvl 15, sg's from a lvl 7. And if your actually a smarty pants, have them put it on site when its for gold

*sigh*
People will never learn. This guy today said he was selling a hally for 70k so I decided to buy it for a friend of mine who is almost lvl 20. He told me to meet him at southern bank in NM. I noticed no staff on so I told him to put it on the site. He said no because "someone else could get it." Which I didn't see why that mattered because either way he'd still get his 70k. I told my friend that I was buying it for that it looked like a scam. Then someone else said they'd buy it from him (he told them 50k) they gave him the money and he logged off. Poor guy that lost his 50k.

You have to trust some low lvls.. I happen to use my lvl 3 crit, God, to hold some items from time to time, which i then sell them from him.. But i do get staff/put on site every time anyways..
