Title: Re: Skins Post by drizzt_dourden on 02/17/03 at 15:54:05 the background(which is what most people just change) is a .jpg file...not sure about the size but u can figure it out by finding one in your skins file. then just make a name for your .jpg and copy one of the skn files and rename it to the same as your own .jpg file. as for changing things around a bit, open up a (copy of a)skn file with notepad and fool around with some settings. there are 4 sets of numbers for placement and size of just about everything on the screen....i 4get which do which, but there is 1 for horzontal placment, 1 for vertical placement, 1 for horizontal size, and 1 for vertical size(measured in pixels). you can even rename certain things on your display(for example when i made my skin for low resolutions i replaced strength with str and intellegence with int....just to save room) it takes a while to get it right....but fool around with it a bit and youll figure it out in no time. you are going to want to set your skin that your working on to a character. so when you change a value, you can log on that char and see what happened. i think it took me about 500 log ons to complete my skin...but i had to resize/rename just about everything. not to mention figuring it all out on my own. hope that helps! ;D |
