Boar's Tusk Inn: The Inn is bustling with life, and many people of all different races sit around tables, drinking and talking loudly. The bartender rushes around frantically keeping tankerds filled and tidying up. There is a small trapdoor in the corner of the room. The Boar's Tusk exits to the Tutorial Sector to the North and Viper Street to the East. There is also a stairwell leading Up, but watch out, it's dangerous up there!

Crazy Pete's Fighting Arena: The arena is a large, bare room with a magical circle in the middle. Anyone can fight, and Crazy Pete just loves to watch. He created this place after he went mad, and payed several wizards a fortune in gold to ensure that noone would be permenantly harmed while fighting here, even when fighting to the death. You can exit Down a stairwell to the Boar's Tusk Inn.

Crazy Pete is a short gnome, dressed in a green robe. He has the glint of madness behind his eyes, and constantly mutters to himself and laughs excitedly for no apparent reason. When people fight in the arena, he seems to come alive, dancing and cheering for all his worth. The Crazy Pete is in a healthy condition.

You missed the Crazy Pete.

Crazy Pete doesn't trust pacifists, so you cannot enter his arena. >:0

I'm pretty sure he won't drop anything. The room is just a fun addition, and a way to anger mighty pacifists.

whatever it is ..id just like to say it is a great addition to nightmist cus now people actually fight and have some fun cus they dont gotta worry about exp .. lol even though u still see some people hit and running .. thanks for the nice little arena above boars staff

This reminds me of the days sonm.. with mass slaughters and no one caring about exp. It's a nice way to take out aggressions on people...including your friends cause then you don't have to worry about the exp. I heard something there last night I've not heard in a long time "Kill me, I need mana". Ahhh the days of suicide mages. :) Thanks for the fun!!

There is, the Challenge Arena on Raven Street. 100 gold to enter.

I agree it is a nice addition. I would like it even more if you couldn`t local in Boar's Tusk if you are over level 10. Gets pretty old in clan chat seeing so and so cut someone down. Then the next line he gets cut down by the person he just dropped.
Most at this point are just using it to get thier pk records up since kills are recorded and deaths aren`t.

And turning clan chat off doesn`t help. Then I don`t get to see what my sexy peeps are talken bout.

Sometimes I log on just to ask clannies for a duel or roam around tryin to find someone to pk. With this new area, all you have to do is log on at boar’s , go up and start the massacre. Really cool addition!!! :D

It's retarded until you can turn off clan kills/deaths because I'm tired of getting scrolled massively by this pointless area where you can go back and die over and over in a short amount of time with no consequences(besides getting pregnant doged at by clannies)

I think this square needs to be taken away.

First of all, whats the point in the challenge arena if you can battle above boars for free?

Secondly, I thought that all the staff were trying to deter pking? What with all the level caps on areas to stop players hunting down newbies, and more recently the actual player level caps. This kind of defeats the point of all those don't you think, seens as how the first thing a newbie will see when he/she logs on is about 500 people resurrecting at the inn.

Thirdly, I think it's realllly annoying. The nightmist tavern is now overrun by idiots who go into the arena, die, respawn at boars, and run back up again - only to die 1 second later. Remind me again.........whats the point in this? I tried it out a bit today, and I wasn't impressed.
Not only does it create a vast amount of scrolling in the boars at peak times with all the death messages and what not, but it seems to me as if its a really quick solution to keep the people who complain about nothing to do happy.

If I were a newbie logging on for the first time, the impression I would get by simply looking at the square activity would be - 'Game devoted to pking - if there's nothing better to do than this then I see no point in playing - You can die, come alive again instantly, make one move and die again........I see this to be an interesting concept.....maybe i'll waste my time leveling up so I can do this too!'

I understand that most of you probably like this addition.

So for all of you that do, I have but one thing to say.

If you spent the time you do running back and forth dying at the boar's on thinking up suggestions to improve the game as a whole, without resorting to quick solutions, nightmist would be a much more entertaining place, where no one would even bother with something as ridiculous as this.

Momba - stop people over level 10 setting boar's as a local?

That's an idiotic idea, and again another temporary solution to keep a few people happy.

Here's an idea to solve the problem your refering to.

How about you don't use the boars, instead you go duel somewhere out of the way where no one can respawn and instantly attack again.....hmm .........how about in the desert.

I agree with Stigmata that this should not be the first thing that new players see when they enter nightmist. The scrolling will make this far too confusing for them and give the wrong impression of the game as a whole.

I also agree that the scrolling that this can cause in clan chat is ridiculous. My prefrence would be that all deaths in no-exp-loss areas not be reported in clan chat. Perhaps there should be an option to enable these death messages, but the default should be that these messages are disabled.

However, I think that this square will eventually reduce the amount of PKing that goes on. (I should say that I'm not a PKer... I just don't find it interesting at all.) Some people just want to kill other characters. Give them a place where they can meet other like-minded folks and let them have their own little area. Some of them will tire of this eventually and go off and do other things. Other people will just stay there and continue to die, resurrect, and go at it again. I'm all for them having their own little place away from the rest of NM.

not exactly sure wtf your saying because of all the typos... but anyway... When you first log on to nm and all you see is massive scrolling by the same people over and over... how is that a good thing?... if anything thats just going to keep new players off the game(wich im sure JLH/Pan dont want.)

and btw the "point" if there even is a main point to the game is not to pk... its to lvl characters, buy/sell trade items/characters. You dont have to pk if you dont want to its a choice...

I do like the new area but the location of it needs to be changed. Possibly add a few squares over the gambling hall for those who want to participate?

Maybe just add a pub next to the arena thats can only be entered from viper street... this should prevent all the death messages in pub constantly.

anyway thats just my thoughts
