Post by SquiggleUK on 10/28/03 at 22:25:14 just talking to a few clannies today. and i started up the conversation about the good old colour bug. the commands were guessed by a certain player, i cant remember, and rich (scream) paged me the commands. |cr (i think it was, for red etc) We were pretending we were pandilex by saying something, making loads of spaces to start a new line, typing like.. |cbPandilex: STOP USING THE COLOURS OR I WILL BAN YOU! and we were also doing moshes too, it was so funny lol what are YOUR greatest nightmist memories!? |

In Isyng’s old profile he had color, it was a color code JLH had forgot to turn off for players and I was able to speak in color. I remember paging Garrick and he tped to me and was like “WTF”. I told JLH or Pandilex about it and it was fixed. That was pretty funny. Some other memories, hrm... NBM when Zero played, he was uber cool. Ah, I remember when Xlibra and me were friends. He told me he was cheating to level his mage, I had a hard time trying to decide what was better, to keep a friendship or to tell john and do the right thing. I remember FINALLY being able to convince Ninjarai to sell his Rune Blade to me. I remember an old bug that came about where you could log more than one copy of a character on. So you could double what items and gold you had on the character. Boy did that cause a reset. Man.. I have soo many memories.. I can’t post them all :S |

I was just on my way to bt when all these arches just jumped me lol, they wouldn't let me leave! :-/ I remember when the account system came in and me and belgarion ended up logging onto an account with a few nice crits in it. Think it was matt's account and i think carnage was one of the crits in the account, oh well didn't last long till they reset the server again ;D Who remembers the lightning dragon underneath arilin! There was all these guys trying to kill the thing while a party of clerics and the like were healing like crazy! What ever happened to the tooth anyway? Many funny chats with garrick at sgh, i think i speak for many when i say he is greatly missed :-* Well many others but i think i'll leave it at that ;) |

I keeped killing that thief and I got a total of 12billion; well alot, then the rest came and I lost all that gold. |

When i first started playing nightmist a friend and I found out a bug.A bug where you could make a name with just numbers in it and that much gold would appear by you when you logged on.We were going to abuse it, but Methson told us to tell JLH and he would prolly give us a reward.But instead my friend(Amarant) got his character banned ;p. #2. LotN being the number one clan.And the members werent full of themselves.Cept for MasterLocke of course :-* #3 Killing MasterLocke in a mosh, and having him ramble on for days about how overpowered barbarians were.(which they were :P) #4 Quests that we used to have ran on a monthly basis. #5 Pking took skill.Not however many alts you could log on.No one was a POS potato and would hit and run with alts.People used to have some balls. #6 Bosses spawning hourly and had a low % to drop. #7 The following Old Sysops; Isyng,Krillick,Laca,and Garrick. #8 Being in the party with the first to kill Norinth and Fire Mage and then finding out they dont drop a thing. #9 Ste and I powertraining our thieves to level 30 in less than an hour.Which they then got deleted soon after :'( Oh and my top 2 worst memories: #1 The big Reset coming -lol- #2 Zero dropping his bracelet of speed and me picking it up.Then Krillick told me i had to give it back >:( Heres the funniest moment ever! Paul/Enex deleting his Christmas Blade cause he said he was gonna quit.Then came back 2 hours later. |

I remember getting stuck in Emerald city with that mage at lvl 3 and having Pandi get me out! Then Deval helped me roll Night_Shadow... he was like.. a Nomad with 21 14 20 20 17 14 heh. I remember how bad druids and elementals blew back then. And how Ebony paid me 800 gold to delete that crappy first roll of mine. I remember killing Stone Lord like 20 times with the help of Sulphuria (think that was the name... he had wrist spikes). I remember when like... 50 people was a major event on nm... and breaking 100 was unheard of! I remember the good ol' days... yeah. And I remember winning a 1-30 mosh with my lvl 21 after me and Koni made it to the end and refused to kill each other... Sarianna came down annd Koni guessed the wrong number and was killed... I remember collecting 100 roses for Kimmi (Akasha) to marry me, then having her turn me down to marry Anthrax! That sucked... I remember the Great Tenticle Beast... didn't that thing drop the sword of sharpness? I remember the duel between Hypocrates and Odin back when Odin finally reached 30... They dueled just outside of Pern Undead pub, and Hypo beat him with magical stone... what a great move for clerics. I remember watchnig Ebony take on the Ssilx by himself with a Cobalt Staff of the Winds... He died a few times, but it was fun watchin! I remember running around with Necrinomicon and trying to kill the Skeleton Lord... Ebony always hunted us down before we could kill it though! AHh many fond memories of pre-reset... I miss that game. :'( :'( I also remember Marky Mark quitting because he got mad at us for calling him that... Lmfao... Then he came back.. and I still called him that. |

(assassinating for 350ish with a bronze dagger at lvl 15...) i remember dueling meman several times after that trying to recreate the scenario with no luck. i remember when ste and some others ridiculed paul to train brimstone666 to 30 without mark, and then pk'd as soon as he started. fun fun. |

I do agree though, there's way more drama on here.. then there was when I started playing.. basically the only thing I miss about back then was people actually respecting one another... etc. |

He then came there and invited me, dragging me back and forth, untill I logged off and said this game blows. It wasn't untill a month later, when Manda got all excited about getting two stam on her thief, and actually being able to hit and kill something in one round, making some gold for once, and it drew me to play the game not out of liking it, but for the sheer fact that she was doing something, and was getting good at it, and was better then me. One other thing I clearly remember is finaly getting Manda to let me borrow her S.G.s for a mosh i got owned in, and then logging her crit on /give dev spider and them going to another crit that weren't hers. Needless to say my balls shriveled up, thinking I just gave away 500k(yes they went for that many months ago), but the chap was a good person and gave them back. I also remember rick asking me to help him out fighting against BOD under R.h. only to be running back from the pub 15 seconds later(about 25x) before I gave up. |

Post by Bean on 10/29/03 at 06:52:42 I remember getting immensly drunk with 20 other people in the cloud city tavern, and having a designated driver to the stone lord... once we got there I was sober, so I killed the driver, and ran away :P It was funny to hear all the yells of 'WTF I CANT GET OUTTA HERE I KEEP STUMBLING' Mwahahah I also remember the same party going to the sslix.... getting annihilated, and going back about 30 more times.... we got it to slightly gave up, and had a huge convo while drunk :) I also remember my mage sephiroth who had lvl 30 spells at lvl 12... The staffers started a lvl 10-20 mosh, and my lvl 12 mage was pwning everyone, it was great. I remember when mages DIDNT suck... I also remember when ikaros and baros were an unstoppable pking team... *No really they had infinite stamina due to revive...* I remember killing the great tentacle beast for the first time, and the hell baron... I remember the first time I got pked by ebony... and then android_20... and then rolling myself a berserker and swearing to someday beat him... Lol... I remember when pallies were leveling machines... due to revive... I remember when the ogre was the place to be... I remember when everyone was polite, no one jipped anyone, most people were able to hold a decent conversation without the phrase 'noob', or 'stfu' or 'wtf' coming up very often... *and if they were it was only in good fun* And last but not least, I remember when the.... Crap... I cant remember the name, but the tavern was pkable... that was funny nuts... |

My brother mapped it out while I was at school, and then I took out the Harlequin and Specters with just my mage ;D Stats didn't mean as much. Even with amazingly poor stats my mage was still pretty d**n good (only because he was level 29 though lol) One day I was level 29 with like 90 mill exp (who needs exp? lol) and then spending the next two days killing the Harlequin to get masks, and then noticing my exp was up to 550 mill. Being joint founder of Ancient Warriors with Baros and Ikaros. Rich tricking me with his ''I dare you to drop your full plate!'' act, then I logged onto his friends character (I was training him) and then tricked him into thinking it was his friend, and he gave me back my full plate lol. If I think of anymore i'll post 'em :P |

LOLOL Training in an arena all day long cause the exp was the same as outside of towns. Killing the Lightning Dragon ...god alot of people were pissed. LOL Continuous battles that lasted over an hour because EXP loss didnt matter at level 30. Killing the Demonic General with Brad and Paul alone.. (total of 3 crits) The Void. Watching Xlibre run around with his potleaf portrait. Staff running fun things. Lots more just cant think of them atm... |

Killing someone who's supposively one of the best dominate players, w/ help of course... when I've only killed her cleric before. Post by Insomnia on 11/05/03 at 15:22:03 Got a few things I remember back from when I was a true newb (probably the biggest one that's ever existed on NM too). #1 is from the first time I actually fought the general. I went there with my supreme level 26 fighter + a level 24 paladin and noticed that like all of BoD (in the very first beginning of their era) was there. Well.. I got excited and all since I got to see the mighty general (alot of stories were being told about him among my newb friends) so I started attacking it without a word. Of course, I got killed pretty fast and of course again, I got a lil mad. However, I ran back as fast as I could with my fighter only and started hitting it immediately when I got there. The general himself was almost dead so everyone in BoD kept hitting it, instead of me, since they all wanted that drop badly (and seriously, the chance of my single vll 26 fighter getting drop vs. 30 crits from BoD isn't very big). And guess what, I actually killed it. I managed to equip it instead of the BoH I had at that time (which was hard as hell, since I was in cold sweat and my hands started shaking and all that ;D) and the second after I was sent back to arilin pub. Well folks... that's the story of how I got my first hally. #2 was at the general too. I was training in the barracks and found general alive, and noone was there! I paged my friend (from my class, who played at that time) and told him to bring everything he had, and to do it so that noone would notice us heading for the general :). Well ... we got there and started fighting it. Fought it for aloooong time (like 1 and a half hour) when my friend suddenly said that he had to go to sleep (think his parents were pregnant doging at him). I was like .. alright, I'll keep going by myself then (and yes, at this time I didn't know that you actually could look monsters over and find out their condition). 2 minutes later a big party enters the square, and one of the guys kills it in his 2nd round. That's the story of how I almost got my second hally... #3 includes a hally too! This was a few days after the #2 thing happened. I was kind of mad and wanted my first hally badly.Therefore, I spent a whole day with my level 21 (or 22) fighter killing rats in the sewers, depositing after every 1K I earned. I remember it taking like 6 hours of constantly rat killing, but finally I got the 80K I needed to buy one that was for sale. 30 minutes after that I bought it, JLH announced that there was gonna be a 1 day reset (meaning that everything will be reset to how it was 24 hours ago), cause of a bug that had given some people over 200 million gold. (can't remember if this was the crit-copying bug... but it feels like it was earlier than that). That's the story of how I got my first hally, but yet again it was taken away pretty fast... I bet noone else has had this much trouble to get their first halberd... :-/ |

TR we're vining, so first off, i raped fire fire fire x3 at a char then quckly at vines, and alex ran with mage, invised, All of TR gave up aftyer about 20 mins, cept one person, Gus first off he was using Epiphany and a Cleric if i remember, then i killed him a few times i think he got my ranger once then he brought Along Mammon, we never found each other so, gave up. That was a great memory...because it was fun. |

And it's not very surprising that it's completely destroyed NM now. A tactic that requires no skill yet kills anything... be happy that there are still people out there who runs around visible. I tried for a long time but gave up and pretty much quit. Whenever I play now I run around coverted, or else newbs will just jump me and bragg about how good they are and how much I suck. When I read some posts from people on this thread I really miss the old nightmist. I never thought about it very much before - even though older players always say how much they miss the old NM. Yes, people was bad mouthing each others back then too whenever there was a big fight somewhere in sewers, but they also fought fair and usually "pregnant doged fair". Today, like I said, this is all about hit and running. If someone kills you and runs all the 1-2 squares back to town, they try to act big for hours... What can I say... I understand everyone who's quit. NM used to rule like 1,5-2 years ago. Now it's just a bunch of annoying newbs who keeps bad mouthing each others and bragging about their own mightyness. Yet they all suck. Peace |

Post by Squiggle on 11/06/03 at 02:15:24 i remember owning Baldur. it took me a year to get him from level 25-level 27 lol. all i did with him was PK, i never leveled. as i was a BoD member, i used to goto the gen with them alot (its strange how it was called gen back then, and now DG). i left the clan at one point coz one of was clannies was REALLY very annoying. and i went down there one day to fight the gen, and KABOOM, i get killed by BoD.... its amazing, one minute they loved you for being in their clan and donating that 100k, next minute they hate your guts and put u on KOS. I remember being in TR, and i got booted for some odd reason, i think it was because i only donated 500k in the week i was there, and i did give them 400k before i quit (that was before i got invited into the clan). |
