Post by Freya on 09/30/03 at 06:39:36 Picture this: You're a Mage sitting in the sunny, peacefull, Grassy Meadow, and you're enjoying the day, playing with bunnies, and petting the deer. Other mages, clerics, and pacis, strole by, politely greeting you, and showing off their lovely robes, and move on. Then out of nowhere, a party of sweaty naked lvl 30, zerkers, rangers, pallys, and fighters rush at you with their weapons, the armor on the ones who sport it, clings to their naked parts, as they wail on you with their weapons of destruction. It's not the damage they do to you that kills you, it's laughing so hard that you die of a heart attack because of these naked people running around the realms of the map with no clothing. There is nothing worse than that. Did someone forget to tell them to put on some long johns this morning? And berserkers (and we thought sumo wrestlers were scary) running around, completely naked, no shoes, it's like sasquatch is mad at you, and chasing you around with a halberd. Scary vision indeed. Noone says that a nice set of long johns should add armor, or a cozy pair of socks or flimsy shoes. But for the love of clear vision and sights of beauty, make these people put some clothes on. |

Ber means bare... not bear.. and Zerker = shirt. even though it was pointed out that their history book seems to be the only one on the net that says it and theirs is right while 50 others are wrong. By now I got used to the breeze between my legs, and I guess it's good for quick potty breaks in between training...*shrug* |

Do you all know how much trouble it would be to modify the current system just so our descriptions could say ur wearing pants? in a role playing environment I could see how this would be necessary.. but seriously.. nightmist has never and will never be much of a role playing experience.. so trivial things like pants arent really necessary to elaborate on. Also allow me to point out one more thing. Above where you can see your fireleaf tunic and your spiked equipment and your halberds and such.. there reads the words armor and weapons. pants arent armor really so they wouldnt go there. Also, in the other equipment menu.. they arent there either are they? Because regular pants id say wouldnt really be considered any type of equipment. In conclusion i would say that clothing (not pertaining to armor or equipment) is left up to one's imagination. Its really not neccessary to implement something having to do with clothes just as a confirmation to weak-minded individuals that the citizens of nightmist are in fact wearing their underwear, socks, and of course, pants. ty good nite. ;) |
