We did this thinking we wernt gonna get caught but nuts always seem's to fall to hell. Im was never in trouble on Nm i always stayed loyal to the game. But when i sold my acc i kinda got bored and missed NM, so i found out john was selling his acc and jumped on it just so i can get back to the was i was. I mean NUTZ guys! Get it together!! I don't give a rats posterior for all those that are about to say 'It's their game, they can do what they want'. If Nightmist is ever going to be seen as a serious institution SOMETHING is going to need to be done about the way punishments are dealt out. I remember when I had the sugah family, got them all to high 20's and deleted them. created cupcake and the pastries and started over...got alot to lvl 30 and reset them/sold some and started over. now i got some taken away from me...so i get to start over. I dont care...as for saying you dont think im tellin the truth, ill memo you. no other reason than to show that you dont know as much as you think. It just seemed that everybody is being tarred with thier own seperate little brush, and cupcake, for a first offense, who has in no way at all commited an offense such as this in the past, is now permanently banned, whilst people who have done so much more to hurt Nightmist walk free, continuing on their debaucherous little journey. I think it might be wise if JLH were to go into further detail to present a seperate document with varying instances. The current one is a somewhat generic guideline :) MODIFY: Might I add, that document does not mention IRL trading. MODIFY AGAIN: One more thing I thought I'd best make clear. I agree with staff on the fact that RL trades should not occur, and I in no way support them. The issue that I present is the way in which punishments are dealt, and the comparison of severity for differing offences. MODIFY ONE MORE TIME: Just pointing out that I am aware that the majority of staff only have the /dayban command. |

Yet people who clean out accounts Are given a much LESS sever punishment... Which in turn can be seen as a very BIASED thing in the eyes of most players.... Someone hacks an account and takes the crits/items (highly unlikely) or 2. Takes crits during a trade while staff are there, where we will have them perm banned. Now we as staff cannot give perm bans without laying eye on the thief doing the deed, so if a player does a trade without us, there will not be a ban, or if a player shares accounts and has evrything taken, there will not be a ban. Most of what you call tieves are people who con others into sharing or doing trades without staff, which is like giving a set of car keys to a thug and exprct him not to take the car. We have wrote in the rules that we will not take action (yes even if they admit it) on thieves if a)staff wasnt present at trade, or b) Shared accounts. |

In any country i have ever been to if you have a house or an apartment and you invite the person to stay with you, Even to live with you and they steal something of yours, and you prove that it was yours then they still go to jail. and with sharing accounts its the same thing, You have your account and alllow the person access and you allow them access to it, you have just invited them to stay with you. If they steal from that account or take something that was not theirs prior to being allowed into an account it is still stealing and should be punished just the same. |

Post by Lady_Maha on 09/16/03 at 13:45:56 The reason why staff doesn't punish someone who stole out of a shared account or in a non-supervised trade is, that staff would have their hands full reading through logs just to see who owned what, however, I believe that if a thief openly admits to stealing, they should be punished just as any other thief. If not, it is basically telling the NM community that only the stupid thieves (who steal with staff present) get punished, while the slightly smarter ones (those who get people to share, and especially those who use keyloggers) get away free and even laugh in the face of the person who got ripped off openly. |

If you have broadband and no static IP then you can just unplug and you get a whole new set lol. Comp Ban = Reinstall windows. and there are various other types which are still posible to get around |
