Title: Rankings Post by RaveChyld on 09/10/03 at 00:54:40 Well im probably the only one in the entire game that thinks this (and i know kalypso wont agree) i think rankings should be based off of your Stats,Equip,Exp and stuff like that..Not by how much money you have.If you look at the over all Experience page on the website you will se maximus sittin at number one with over 1billion exp yet he ranked 40th over all yet down at 77th is kalypso with 341mill exp yet she is ranked #1 over all because she has money..pretty much in NM equip and stats are what makes a good character overall not money..well im done start Flaming :) |

Stats would be a small determination of rankings anyhow wouldnt it? Mainly, I think Exp should factor into what rankings are. Because really after lvl 30 the only activities you can do are; 1.Get more, and more exp 2.Lose more and more exp, pking and being pked. |

I know I'll never rank top in the game, because the second i have gold, I spend it again. I really try to save up, but then a nice crit comes along that I buy, or some equipment I want, or we're close to a new clan room and only short the gold that I have at the moment, so I put it in the clan... We do have the rank by exp, rank by pks and whatnot pages on the website too, and if we don't like the money system, we can always look at those instead. And I do agree that more gold gives you more power. If you got gold you can equip yourself with rare and expensive items. Those items will modify your stats, making your crit better, causing your crit to make more gold. |

I had a level 18 druid ranked 4th overall once, and all I had was 3 mill on him.. how stupid is that? He was level 18, with crap stats.. and he sure as hell wasn't the 4th best in game. I think that items (cobalt, questies etc) should have a much bigger effect than they do already, same with experience and stats. Pks/Dbp shoulnd't do anything though, because you can still be powerful and not pk. |

Title: Re: Rankings Post by Brat on 09/10/03 at 22:34:20 ouchLast I heard, Everything but stats was factored into Rankings.....Level, Gold, Hp, MP, Armor, and Exp.......cause if you wanna get down to it, I could have Brat back to close to the top of the ranking boards with just money, He's been at the top many times of the Thief rankings (which is a pain to do nowadays due to as many as there is) And Brats Stats are NOT by ANY MEANS great he,he He's a 3 stat crit and I'm not talking the good ones.........He was rolled 2 months after you all had that HUGE reset, and re-rolled 2 mnths later and that was before MaxStats were known to players.........Now another thing I haven't mentioned is........Ranking is also due to Pks to Being Pked.......That also factors into the ranking system...........So if your crit has 1 mil gold on him, best hp in game, and best armor....and most exp, Ain't gunna mean dildy squat if you have only Pked 50 ppl as opposed to the 650ppl that have rapped ya upside ya head for bashing or trash talking lol.............As Kalypso has said Money = Power, I'll add to that........Being a Chairperson of a high ranking clan, also being around for a very long time = Power........Whether or Not gold is to determine Ranking........The Players still will never be satisfied when they so low on the totem pole......Rather than crieing about something that's been there since the Beginning of the game, work THAT much harder to be #1................../who Cleaners and do a /who cupcake.........Cupcake has been re-rolled and still not arch......I'm not crieing about it, just busting *Cupcakes* to get up there ***Pun intended LOL**** (/lick John) and (/lick Kalypso) Anyway That's my Story and I'm sticking to it :-D |

Also, for people who are not so pk driven, if the score is formulated with a 'pk's to pk'd' system, people who had the crap pk'd out of them as newbs, yet never developed the thirst for revenge, may very well never even see themselves in the top 100 of thier class, let alone overall. |

I do not see why items really need to count on rankings. You can look people over and see what they have on, where as you can not look them over to see how much gold they have. The rankings are a good way to see how much gold people have. I mean if nothing else say you go to trade with the #3 player overall (I'm just giving an example since I havnt checked the rankings in a while so I have no clue who it is) and they offer you crap gold for a good crit using the excuse that they "are broke." You'll know from their ranks that they arent exactly "broke." |

Personally, everything that I do with my alts is ultimately to achieve something better for my main Deval, thus all that I acquire goes to him, and due to this, I place a reasonable about of faith in the ranking system. If Zephie uses all her alts in order to ascertain further rewards for her crit Kalypso, and thus increases her ranking, then more power to her. |
