Post by Devotchka on 08/01/03 at 15:57:51 I have personally become sickend by the way ppl talk to you on here anymore.For instance someone gets pked south of nightmist comes back and forget it, It's just cuss after cuss at everyone there who isn't in their clan.As I have said before if you don't like getting pked then maybe you shouldn't play the game or maybe stay in town.Others including myself don't want to see your profane language.Take it to clan chat or something... Another thing is the pages ppl send to others once they have been pked. Is it really that bad that you have to page the person and tell them that you are going to come kill them and do stuff to their family?Use you're heads! It's a game, It's not like you are dying in life.I would really like for them ppl who do get pked by my clannies to take it up with them if you are sooo bothered by it, You paging me and cussing me out is only going to get me to send it to staff and you know what happeneds then and that even goes for the ppl who sit there at south gate and think it's cool to cuss at me and you know who you are... So far I haven't reported yet but I will if it keeps up. Consider it nice of me to send a warning before you end up where you don't want to be. |

I have gotten some very rude and demening comments thrown at me for no reason what so ever. I have come to grips that this game is quite lacking in respect and have no problem with that but come on. Lay off it already. Or there is always the person who thinks it cute to scroll you with pages or what not. *sigh* |

I know I'm guilty of cussing some ppl out for pking me when I'm in the middle of doing something (again sry Magoo), but from having read a previous thread on the same topic I feel most ppl are guilty of it at 1 time or another. Swearing for no reason, like if you look over some1 is, I feel, totally out of order. Hugh |

Eventually they will get over it and just cope, so I don't mind the cursing from newbs too much. Those who have been in the game longer however, should know better than to scroll and throw profanity around. It seems to me that the south gate is a perfect place if you want to extend your vocabulary of profanities, and quite frankly, I am getting tired of it also. |

It will cut down on at least some of the profanity, and make it require a bit more effort to do so. It'll cut down on the complaints, and the waste of staff time on whining pleas of "Help me that bad boi swore at me!" |

I have a daughter who is almost old enough to start playing Nightmist, and I would hate to expose her to some of the words used in the game, although I am sure she would quite enjoy playing. And not all of the people who swear do get banned. There are times when no staff is online (after all we can't expect them to give up on sleep, school, job to monitor the language in the game 24/7). It's annoying to see people swear, and when you warn them that you are going to get staff involved, they laugh in your face and tell you that there is no staff online anyway, all that while my daughter is watching over my shoulder, asking me "Mommy, what does that word mean?" |

Post by James on 08/04/03 at 10:28:49 beh lady maha I wouldn't let any of my children play this game simply put its not a very nice place people take it to serioius and don't care about any one but them selfs for the most part there are a few exceptions and there are some nice ppl but for the most part ppl are @$$ and don't care about any one but them selfs now what kind of mesage are we sending our kids when we let them into this kind of envorment? but now we are getting into issues of children on the net and that right there should be very limited my children will never spend the kind of time I'v spent on this game or on line its not good for them not like its good for me eather but I'm already wasted so what dose it matter so thats how it is |

Ive picked up quite a few handy phrases actually. Just found a new one though. If you truely wanted the swearing to stop there would be a more efficient means of doing it worked into the game itself. Key words would be -its just easier to ban ppl-. Ive done 3 trades in the last few days... no staff has been available for any of them. I would assume at these times... vulgar language etc. is going unpunished? Just an assumption of course. :-X Maybe Manda could get staff as Language Filter? She's pretty effective. Manndaa. |

"hell" or "d**n" but, not to the extremes. This is a game for all ages.. but, just because someone does happen to complain about that specific person and their swearing.. doesn't mean.. it's not going to be incessant.. let alone if there's no staff on.. for you to tattle tale to. I curse, but, I'm not vulgar with my language.. I use that for other programs.. sometimes one might slip out. I substitute my words.. usually.. IF I know.. I'm going to use vulgar words. I was always told it wasn't ladylike to use them. |
