Title: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Ste on 07/02/03 at 06:58:08 yep lol, another one of those long, boring, 'shut the hell up and just leave' posts. and u cant yell 'Yay Less Lag' anymore! ok well you can, but its a bit silly as there aint no lag anyway. Nightmist has been another life for me, something which i could goto, and forget about reality, forget about who i am, and live this life, as if it WAS who i am, and where i was. I didnt play from the beginning of nightmist, but i played a month before the great build up to the 'Big Reset'. i can still remember the early days of Nightmist, and how the same 2 people always used to win the mosh, lol. As the game goes on, it seems to get more populated, but there just isnt enough room, also, in my opinion, the staff dont help out as much. The game seemed to go into chaos, mainly after Garrick left, one of our most loved staff members next to laca and Xlibre, i havent seen Krillick around lately, i dont know what happened to him. Also, the players, some of them can be dam right rude, selfish, and a great annoyance. The only things ive liked seeing, is how TR have taken over the barracks. they can now roleplay their ownership of that area, its just fantasic the way they've done it, a work of art if i must say so myself, something nightmist hasnt ever seen (i dont think :-/). Hopefully in the future Nightmist will grow, the maps will be HUGE so players dont see 10 other players when they move to another grid. BUT, this isnt the main reason im leaving most of you lovely people, the main reason is, is that me and my gf have been spending alot of time together, and now that she has a job, we dont spend as much time together, so focusing more on our relationship is more important than playing nightmist. secondly, my game, Feudal Online. This has been my focus for 2 years, all started out as a plain text-based game coded in ASL 6, and hosted online (originally named Ebersmile), which was fun, but ive taken a more serious thought in making it, and as i was inspired by such games as Realms of Kaos, Gemstone III, AND Nightmist. So this has also taken up most of my time. After getting quite big on nightmist, being in all the top clans which were rank 1-5, like the beanies, BoD, RL, TR, DK etc. And owning a few experts and Archs, and being friends with most of the powerful people in nightmist, who would hunt people down for me (there was the Melfice incident where i had a whole clan of about 50 archmasters waiting outside every exit of nightmist town lol), i seemed to have dropped to.... basically, nothing, but then i started to become the powerful player i was, being halfway there i realised nightmist had to be forgotten about. As some people say, nightmist is an addiction, its hard to leave, and other people then say "get a life", well no, nightmist is a life, just like an ordinary life. It has its rules, its stuggles, its limits, and its races of people, some nice, some evil, and some people cant hack so they leave, or in a roleplay kinda way, they commit suicide, and decend from the realms into the place we call, 'real life'. Hopefully this post will have some meaning to people, and nobody will think of it as a waste of time and space, and think it has completely no point, CONCIDERING, i was here at 6:30am typing it all lol. If you did read it all, thanks.... If you do feel it has meaning, and you agree, thank you very much. Not intending to steal away JLH's players, but hopefully, ill see you sometime trying out my game, or maybe i will return to nightmist in a couple of years to see how its turned out, it will be nice to see how its become from now, to the year 2005. I'd like to thank EVERYBODY who has ever helped me out, TR (for protecting me at southern gatehouse lol), all the top clans who have allowed me to join, and accepted me as their clan mate, JLH, and perhaps Pandi, for making a game/life, that i could Enjoy (until it started to get a bit crowded and full of nuts heads), The ex-staff, for bringing humor into the game (Laca, Garrick, Xlibre, and any others ive forgotten), and all the players who ive known, and built up a good friendship with, as nightmist did bring me alot of new friends (and even a really close relationship at one time), and everybody else for being there to help, to slag me off, and just being YOU really lol. Seeya soon guys :P and happy adventuring! |

Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by dognapot on 07/02/03 at 18:55:48 i was wondering why the ste i know would re-register under the name gwerradon... or have a mousey avatar and peppered mis-spellings throughout a post. |

Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Melfice on 07/02/03 at 21:17:22 Well i have no idea what the hell half this thread is about as most people i don't know if they know you or they are thinking of someone else but yes ste i do remember the time when i was minding my own business and there was like 50 archies running after me lol...actually i don't think there would of been 50 archies after me since i don't think there was 50 archies that existed back in "those" days lol. We've had some fun times, like the small clans we ran and always gave up on lol, you never did try enough with them, i'm sure they would of done well if you didn't always put al these big level restrictions on them lol. We've also had bad times and a few incidence as we know what i mean but yeah good luck with fuedal i expect to be the lead graphics or i'll........ do something really evil >:( lol. cya 8) |

Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Specter on 07/04/03 at 16:52:49 I would say i'd see you on FO, but as you banned me for pointint out that it was a copy of nightmist, I guess I won't :) |
||
|
Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Ste on 07/04/03 at 22:37:11 but how is it a copy of nightmist? its nothing LIKE nightmist, its a totally different concept, and how u think i copied from other games i dont know, because all the ideas came from me, and other FO fans.... i might unban you when you grow up a bit and stop insulting a game which you havent even played yet |
||
|
Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Specter on 07/05/03 at 08:56:34 uhh...your site was a complete copy! It had the same menu bar, the same headings, all your text was copied + pasted in from nightmist, all your 'screenshots' are copies of rok and nightmist. I won't even want to play your game; copies of games are never as good as the real thing. Maybe when you grow up and stop banning people for speaking the truth your game will become popular. I’m willing to bet most people won't want to play a game that’s just nightmist but worse, and you get banned for speaking the truth. edit: all your ideas came from you? LMFAO, there all blagged from games! your stat/magic idea was stolen from dungeon siege without you even bothering to change it. i would post more but i cant remember them, and as im banned its a bit hard. i don't need to play the game to know its a copy. all i had to do was look at your ideas and screenshots. enough info there to tell its a copy. |

There are elves, and dwarves, and swords, and axes, and magic, and all that... I don't think JLH and Pandilex would like if you all started saying Nightmist was a copy of RoK, or the RoK guys would like to hear that RoK was a copy of NM. |

Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Harath on 07/08/03 at 19:23:11 What you can't seem to understand, is that the content is exactly the same as other games. None of its new. |

Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Norinth on 07/08/03 at 19:27:03 And? The content is similar in Nightmist, in RoK, in Deity, etc. Medieval ages do not give you much of a choice. There are Goblins, bears and wolves. There are bandits, skeletons and mages. There are clerics, warriors and paladins. How you use all these elements is what makes them different. |

Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Harath on 07/08/03 at 19:28:23 Why can't you actually think about what your saying before you post? The point I'm trying to make, is that FO is identical to certain games in almost every way! |

Well obviously she doesn't as the that screenshot looks different from nightmist and i don't believe anyone would spend the time editing a nightmist screenshot to look like that as it would take longer than just making one from scratch and there really would be no point in it. The layout may be vaguely similar to nightmists, but as people have said before, it's whats on the inside and the way the game is played is totally different from nightmists, no matter what you people may say about it being a copy, the game isn't finished yet so you aren't even in a position to pre judge it. That's all i have to say. Ps. This was the owner of this account, not Gwerradon using it. |

Title: Re: Another leaving post for your viewing pleasure Post by Outsider on 07/08/03 at 20:21:16 Oh well, the fact is Gwerradon doomned his game by insulting NM players, i wouldve played but after calling me an idiot (when i didnt flame him yet) kinda ruined it. |

Just because Feudal Online has a drop down menu (which is totally different to nightmists) doesnt mean i copied it? it as different content (totally different), different background, logo, text, everything... only thing thats the same is that it has a forum, and a drop down menu. even the drop down menu is coded in a different language... mine is in Javascript, Nightmists is in HTML, using Tables to set the layout, but only javascript to make the drop down. cant you people just be happy? |

The first steps of Feudal Online are quite simple. Create a character, log in, and play! The game is mostly about exploration, and role-play of a character from the feudal age. Many features are included which not many text-based games have. First of all, Feudal Online has 3 main statistics, Might, Will, and Grace. This gives you the ability to customize your character, so it can be magically charmed to kill, strong as a bull, or graceful as an angel. Another new feature, is clans. Clans control towns in realms, the more towns you control, the more powerful you become. A clan doesn't HAVE to control towns, another way to gain power is by building a castle, and then gathering your clan members up to take over rival castles. But the BEST way to become powerful is to ally with other clans, this way you are well protected against invading clans and enemies, and if your allies allow it, you can help them build their towns and castles.</p> <p align="left">The first realm is fairly big, and contains 4 starter towns. There is a huge valley separating them, and is full of monsters which new players can train on. On feudal we don't have arenas, as we believe players should gain general experience by exploring. General Experience is gained by doing many things, including buying, selling, talking to NPC's, exploring, and of course, fighting.</p> <p align="left">Further ideas are yet to be discussed, but there are still many features I haven't yet talked about here, those will have to be discovered in the game ;)</p><br> <br> <b>The Background Story</b><br> <br> So I see young warrior, that you have come here. Perhaps to find your purpose. Perhaps to hear my, or shall I say, our, story. Well then, sit back and enjoy. My name deary is Melody. Back, long before you were born I lived in the Goradian realm with my brother Tristan. Times were rough, and our family was considered of a peasant class. As hard as that may be to believe, looking at this extravagant castle now. We lived in the Great Valley. The center of good and evil within the realm. This area was in constant chaos and was where the sides collided, bickered, and fought. People dying in our front yard was like a leaf falling from a tree. Natural, expected. As my brother and I grew older we heard stories from the elders. Stories of far off places, long ago abandoned. Much better then our own. A place where the peasants, the misfortunate, the homeless, could start over fresh once again, and prosper. These places sparked our imagination, and our curiousity. We were young, we wanted to have fun, not work for the meer meals we did recieve. As we spoke late at night, our plan slowly devised. We had to go through with it. Slowly, we started spreading our plan with a few other children whom we trusted. Our dream started to become a reality. What is this plan you ask? Well, wait, and you shall hear. <br> As we talked, we realized, the Elders had to be right. They were so old, and have seen so much. They had no reason to lie, no reason to get our hopes up. Something, just had to exist outside of our realm. These places just had to be real. We had no idea what we'd be getting into though. Ok, well, we had some idea. But only the good side of things. What about shelter, food, water? Would we know how to get it there? Could we defend ourselves against whatever the area might hold now? Why were these areas truely abandoned? These questions plagued our mind, but had no true answers lying anywhere to be found. <br> Late the one night, Tristan and I had scheduled a meeting between us and about 20 other of the peasant children. This needed to be discussed. We spoke of the elders' stories. The risks we were taking, and the dangers that were ahead. We weighed them against what we could get out of, but still, all agreed, we had to go through with it. <br> The decision was made, and there was no turning back now. During the day we worked as usual. But now instead, our meals became smaller then they already were. Non-perishable food was discretely stored away. Whatever we thought could possibly come into use was gathered and stored in closets, under beds, where ever it could possibly be hidden. I would say that we were determined, but no, it was past determination, past anything the natural mind could comprehend these days. To us, this was a matter of survival, life and death. <br> Weeks passed, and we slowly became more and more prepared. A decent amount of food had been gathered, along with bits of rope and other handy items. Tristan had decided to hold another meeting. This one lasted much longer then the one before. A count was taken of what was collected, and we tried to decide on a leaving date. It went from the bold wanting to leave that night, to the scared, wanting to wait weeks yet. Tristan was starting to agree with those wanting to leave within that week, but out of sympathy for those who were more skiddish, I pushed them off until two weeks from the meeting. Giving everyone more time to prepare for the event. This was a huge step in a lot of our lives, we were living all we knew, all that was familiar to us, some of our friends, and almost all of our family. <br> To be Continued...<br> <br> <br> All content is Copyright © 2003 Feudal Online.
