Title: A message to persistant posters..
Post by Pandilex on 06/05/03 at 16:45:50
I've noticed recently an increase in people posting basically garbage in an attempt to get their post count up, if I continue to see this then I'll halve your post count.

You can argue what you post is relevant (an astoundingly sometimes it is), but when you post again and again in the same thread, it is pointless and annoying. Say what you have to say and have done with it, you do not need to argue your point again every time someone else posts.

You have been warned.

Personally I can see no valid reason why the post count is there. In theory i'm guessing it should help to depict older players from the new ones, but unfortunately this isn't the case. I'd remove it so there is no temptation to start posting rubbish in a childish attempt to raise your post count.

Yeah, Can't you remove it? It just causes arguements about people saying "You post so much, about a lot of rubbish to get your post count up" Whilst this is going on two people argue, getting their post count up.

It can be edited however they want.  The Draco Honoris (http://luvsit.com/NM/) forum has post count with a title only up to 20 posts (guest < 20 post).  I believe at 20 you become an Adventurer, and that's it, no more titles.  It can also just plain not be shown.  Perhaps that's the best thing to do since is such a big problem...

I've requested that forum posts don't count about a year ago, but some just seem to like it I guess.  People say it's like a feeling of respect, but does anyone in here give Jurian respect?

Work?  There is no work.  A forum is a sharing of opinion and people need to understand that.  Is clicking the post button the work?  This isn't lvling.  But I mean no harm.

How's that?

Is it just me, or did the "title" that comes with your postcount get changed? Personally I don't think that makes any sense. It still lets you see the post count and people will still post rubbish to get it up to become "Full Members" or whatever the titles are now.

I say remove it all.

Doesn't bother me any...saw my post count had gone down, oh well, only a little upset that my Cheese In-Game post got deleted but I can live with that.

Now that you have >< 50 post count, how about making Full/New Member a custom title. Should be slightly more fun

I don't recall myself saying, "Jurian cares about his post count."  End of discussion.

well I suggested this to JLH but he didn't realy seem to like the idea but there are forum mods out there that allow you to change wether a certen forum adds post count to your user I would love to see this added for the off topic area and perhaps tech support any thing not realy relavent to the game you know even now with the new <50 >50
