I deleted the P2P topic, it was getting a little out of hand.

The facts are simple, right now the game is not going to go pay-to-play. As you all know already the technology to do so is implemented but I can assure you it will be a fair while before we even consider P2P. There are many things to consider if the game does go play-to-play - for a start we would have to pay a lot more for our internet connection (because of the type of connection required if you wish to generate income).

There's also a lot of rumours going around about Nightmist 3D. I can tell you now that regarding the future of nightmist, I have planned many many interesting alterations and additions to the game, including something for level 30's to do to keep themselves entertained when they're not slaughtering the rest of the players  ::)
The 3D version of the game you have heard rumours about is a consideration for the future. Due to a limited knowledge of 3D and the problems with synchronizing a world between so many players, you cannot expect to see this soon.
As information comes about any future Nightmist games or developments you will be informed (Unless we want it to be a surprise of course).
Until then, sit back and enjoy the ride.

PS: If you see anything unusual in the game, its probably a new feature being tested.

Don't make it 3D. It's a text-based game, like Apple said it would lose it's touch. Reading descriptions and using your mind to guide is a big factor of the game.

then just dont play the 3D version.   IF nightmist goes 3D the text version will still be around.

i'm pretty sure not everybody is gonna like the new changes in the game and i don't know about you guy's but i'm gonna stick around :D

:) glad to see an old nightmist player stick around.... i think the majority of players that are gunna leave, will be those who have only been playing for atleast 6 months.  people like me, the_third_duke, scream, jen, jess, anarchy, and all the other old players will stick around for as long as it takes, and i sure hope they do too :)

I guarantee you i'm sure not going anywhere, i'll just get rich to pay for me if pay to play is implemented, he doesn't seem to mind payin for everything he he's got so it shouldn't bother him.

And the alt limit thing is kinda a stupid idea, u worry about people moving in large pk parties, but u say it's cause u don't want server to lag, many people train their crits in large parties, myself included.  It'd be a pain if this was implemented.

I agree, I think maybe a limit of 5 (enough so that you don't have huge groups of one person, but big enough for them to train)

lag will be eliminated soon, as i have rung NTL and ordered another 1mbit cable line to my house to be fitted soon.

I've only been playin a lil over, or under a year. Not sure, but its around that year point somewhere. Anyway, I would never quit due to P2P unless it was at a totally unreasonable cost which Im sure won't be the case.

Alt restriction is fine. I'll just pay for multiple accounts....and if I can only log on 5 alts at a time per connection, I'll just use another PC and ISP....Simple as that.

As far as 3D nightmist goes...well, I'm all for it, as long as the text based game is left alone. I wouldn't wanna see nightmist go strictly 3D, however, an additional Nightmist 3D would be great.  (Note: You could update the 3D to have all current MUD charecters, clan houses, etc. In the 3D world, so people could play both, and gain lvls, etc. on both. It would be more work I'm sure, but its just an idea, or make Nightmist 3D a totally different game.)

just about the alt limit :D

if you ppl really want a limit i suggest 12 :D
12 is a nice number :D just allow 12 alts :D
