Well Jess will be a great staffer. The maps she makes and the area ideas she has will greatly benefit the game. I know this because some ideas she has discussed with me.

For all those who think she wont be a good staff, think about how good you'd be yourselves. Then think what you have ever given to the game or the players.

Grats Jess, good luck and I'm here if you need better words for descriptions  ;D

Garrick - He entertained us when we were bored.

Psyche - She was a lot of fun. Hide & seek was the greatest.
Cyric - I didn't like him, but I enjoyed his maps.

I've known Jess like 3 years. You people shouldn't be judging her by what clan she's in.. it's what she puts into the game that counts. She's also a good person.. which also helps.

Jess, Congrats on getting staff.. you've deserved it for a long time.. good luck.. and don't let these morons get to you. I know you'll end up doing well... :)

Scream ole buddy/pal give it a rest.  She does not have to prove anything to YOU.  If you dont like that she was made staff talk to JLH/Pandilex!  I will say this though.  Her map site is the nm map site.  :o  Maybe that should give you a clue.

Mike, 1) im not jealous as i wouldn't want to be staff again, as the chances are i'd be fired if i ever was staff, as if im not in TR its bound to happen, 2) Jess can make webpages wow...that doesnt have much to do with building areas on nightmist does it, i made lots of Areas for StormBringer.
3) I don't know how you can call her intelligent as ...where has she ever shown this?

I thought that the use of maps isn't encouraged in Nightmist as said by Stotic. If her staff position is based on her maps, then this game just makes less sense than it already does.

Edit: It would be nice to know why she was made staff, this way would be staffers can know what to do to improve themselves. Also, Ash, many people "deserve" to be staff. Although this isn't how a staff position is based, there are people who are more qualified than her who aren't staff, and i'm sure there are people less qualified than her which are.

Anyone think that maybe she's got lots of good ideas for areas, ways to improve the game, and maybe JLH or Pandilex (whomever is in charge of hiring new staff...) thought she was most qualified? Honestly, "Hybrid" you need to give it a rest and just think that maybe it wasn't only her maps that got her the staff position.

For all you haters who want to be staff why not just congradulate the girl and cross your fingers for next time. I mean every single time new staff is added we got the same 2 folks crying. Do these 2 think that it will make JLH/Pandilex change their mind or that it makes them want to jump and give them a staff crit? I think not. So some class and maybe one day it will pay off.

I think Jess will breat great staff when she learns all the grid and basic commands.

I do think Pandilex puts more time into reviewing applications of TR then he does others. I would bet money that if two applications were turned in, one TR and one some other clan, and the some other clans application was more qualified (ie: knows more of the commands and grid commands, better story and descriptions) that the TR would still get it.

Once again, I am NOT saying jess will be bad staff.. I think she will be great staff.

i'd imagine that pan looked through all the applications that were sent in a couple weeks ago and got jess through there. i don't know why hybrid here has such a problem with her being staff she's more than qualified, she has a very good grasp of the game and has it's best interest before her own (or her clans) you can tell that by the fact that she has always had a very informative and usefull NM site for ages now. so really what's the fuss about it?

also, i was wondering, now that TR has a stranglehold on the staff situation, what should we do with it? i meanapparently everyone is so up in arms about it so i'm guessing they have some ideas that we don't on what to do with a situation like that. so, the question is, TR has a tight grip on NM's staff situation and control the game or something... now what?

Jess is deserving of a staff position. This is actually the first time I've seen staff hired and I actually thought they were one of the best for the job.

Dognapot - I say rebel against JLH. Give him an ultimatum to join TR or be kicked off the NM staff.

i think TR should revise the leveling comment of "You have increased to level 30, gained 21 hp and gained 18 mana points." too "You have increased to level 30, gained 21 hp and gained 18 mana points. A pancake falls from the ceiling."

it's been mentioned before but now that TR completely pwnz we can do whatever we want and no one can stop our madness mwahaha *cough* *cough* ahhahaha!

It amazes me how appearently people think that those who manage to get a staff position get something out of it. What is so desirable about a position that gives you:

a) less time ot actually play the game with your mortal crits
b) constant pages on your mortals when you finally take the time to play them, asking you to log on your staff crit to watch a trade etc.
c) personal attacks and suspicions about how you use your staff crit to enrich your mortals or your clan.

Personally I wonder why people even care what clan staffers are in, especially in the case of an area developer. They can't tell their mortal clannies about the area's layout until after it's been explored by others.

I appreciate any person who is even willing to become staff, because they are the ones who give up on some of their own ingame fun to create more for all us other mortals.

(not to mention the fact that I'll get pk'd less by Samus now, since she's gonna be busy developing areas and watching trades on her staff crit ;-P)

I would find being a staffer a very cool thing. You would be able to make the game better.

I would have somewhere to put all my creative ideas, and such. You know express talent.

Besides If players piss you off, Go covert. If they start swearing at you, ban them. If they somehow log back on, inform pandilex, and he'll ban em for real. If they chew all your area's to bits, because they find one thing wrong with them, well screw them they can go find a better place then, but they shouldnt complain when someone comes out of the area with a new undiscovered item, or quite a bit of gold. And last but not least, If they dont like you just because they dont like you. Screw em, They dont like you? Big deal.

Since it was only a short time since the last hiring I believe Pandilex just used the remaining applications for the last round. Just another touch of keeping the game real. "We will hold your application for 30 days there will be no need to reapply nor call back." lol
