hmm, i got banned for swearing and that's cool and all cuz i'm not allowed to. but i do ahve to accept all the insults thrown to my head all the time.

if this is a game for all ages i suggest you stop allowing ppl to insult eachother all the time.

(someone called me an ugly fat mcdonalds robbing smut) now this was meant to be send to someone else who might be offended by it.
It did'n't offend me but i can immagine someone could be offended by such an insult.

so i say if this game is for all ages that doesn't allow swearing then don't allow insults either.

That gets old after the 3rd time,maybe you should just ignore it and let staff ban whoever gets caught doing it.

If you see someone swearing, or someone is insulting you. Tell staff, the person will be banned. But do not go down to their level and throw insults also. Treat others how you want to be treated. Then you don't have to worry about getting ban at all.

Depends on the insult.  If its something like "you aren't good" then well I don't see any need to ban since hostility will always be present in a pking style game.

i agree with the stopping of insults a clannie and friend of mine was berrated by FuFu, humm thats zephi isnt it, so now hes not gonna be playing for awhile. cause if staff go around insulting ppl and dont stop others from harassing you (ive had a person page me from 10 dif crits i ignored all then logged cause i got sick of it) then whats the point of playing??

I told him to email JLH or Pandilex, I'm not going to stop pking people on my mortals because I'm staff, the way I play my morts has nothing to do with my staff positon. If someone asks me for help while I'm my mortals (which they do) I will be more than happy to assist them, but I will not stop playing the game.


Oh, you also forgot to point out how your friend was cursing. He did not even know who I was until I told him to stop cursing.  

If you believe I violated any of the TOS. Please, I urge you to email one of the admins about my behavior.

I rarely pk, ever - look at my charactes.  I also never use my thieves 'steal gold' feature.  I'm also not saying staff shouldn't pk on their norms; just that some behavior on a staff member's norms. can influence their staff position.  I'm not even accusing you or anyone else of doing such things.

you totally made use the steal gold ability, i remember you attributed it to the creation of your clan house when DH started getting moving again. it's the cornerstone of your city man.

on the relation of norms and staff crits, the only relation between the two that becomes relevant is when one is cheating. otherwise, since staff and norm crits have incredibly different uses, there is no real connection between the two. one is for playing, one is for contributing.

On this game I am Bishop as a player.  Cyric was created only because I needed a name that wasn't already taken for my staff character - but you can call me Rob if you like.

I never stole gold, I killed thieves (the monster) that on occasion were being used by players to gain exp.  Call it stealing if you like, I call it killing a monster and ending up with a fool's gold.

Staff's norms actions should affect their staff position in the guidelines of the TOS; such as verbally abusing others, taking advantage of bugs, as well as cheating, swearing, etc.

I only mentioned it because I thought this:

my problem was that i couldn't find where the problem was. there's no connection between the two kinds of crits unless the sysop is using it's powers to aid or hinder mortals. i figured it went without saying that everyone playing the game is bound by the rules of the game and expected to conduct themselves appropriately in regard to them.

that's how it has always been, zephie was correct in saying that the way she plays her morts has nothing to do with her staff crit because she plays her morts without the influence of her staff crit. if she is cheating, swearing, etc. she is still subject to the rules of the game just like everyone else (excluding simon and JLH).

ok, i would juss like to say something bout the staff insulting people on this game, ummm jen does insult ppl alot ok, and when u report someones cursing to her, all she says is " i warned them " ... like how many times could you warn someone before u do your job as a staff member? now if your someone she dont like, then thats a different story, if someone reports ur cursing or what not, then she'll ban you, like honestly guys, how much more of this crap is gonna go on? someone needs to do there job as a staff and do something about it! thanks!

Ummm... BRabbit, just to let you know, she treats everyone the same. She warns everyone who has been accused of swearing if she didn't witness it. And then, if further cursing is used, she'll ban you. And you for one I know swear a lot in-game. I'm not saying you should stop, I'm just saying if you don't want to be banned, don't swear. I haven't swore in general chat in forever, and the last time I was banned for it, I asked to be banned by Halor, and it only took me cursing at him through page to do it. I'm sorry if some staff find it more worth while to try and help a player through the problem than just simply banning them. They're not trying to force people from the game by banning, they're simpling trying to get people to stop breaking the rules, in doing so giving them a warning to stop what they are doing.

I personally dont care what staff do on their regular crits, but on the forum posting battles under their staff name, is a little ridiculous, but this could just be my opinion. I feel if a staff member wants to show off how good their clan is in pk'ing, it needs to be done on a non-staffer's forum name.

To my knowledge Halor is the only staff member to have a staff and non-staff account. So what you ask for is presently impossible. Unless you want a someone else in the clan to post. But I don't see the harm in the staff member posting. Since it is generally accepted knowledge that they use their forum accounts for both staff and regular purposes.

It's not IMPOSSIBLE, even if only 1 sysop had it, it's shown as being possible, they can make another name.

If you would have read my post more carefully. I said presently, meaning at the moment I said it. Which still remains to be true. The staff member who posted clan victories has only one account, and therefor can only use one account. If said staff member were to make another account it would be done after I had spoken, therefor being another moment in time. Which is not the moment I'm referring to.

I didn't know Flux was Havanor. I feel it's just appropriate. You posting that your clan killed my alts on a Sysop forum account, kinda makes me feel like if i had a problem with one of your clannies, not that i do, you would ignore that problem. *but i do know you wouldn't do that*

I'm glad you know that. I've had this account since before I was made staff- didn't feel a reason to change it because either way my behavior should follow forum rules. Staff name or not.

And here they reflect there regular crits, unless it is necessary to reflect a staff presence, which when done is quite obvious (forum administrators are a different matter). I could be wrong, and if I am, please would a staff member correct me.

If staff kept their alts a secret, it would save them a lot of trouble. Nothing more annoying than playing a normal character then getting paged 'x pages you from x: PLZ ONO I GT MY CHARCTER STOLEN NO1 HAD AXESS EXCPET EVERY1 I KNW IN RL AND THS 1 GUY BUT HES KOOL SO I GT HACKD OH NO'.

Saying that, it can be difficult to keep your alts secret from everyone.. personally I think there should be a rule enforced against revealing a persons alts when they don't want them publicly known.

Your name use to be Kalypso. Why couldn't you have made a staff account only, since you have really posted *to my knowledge and im sorry if im wrong* much from a staffer's point, i.e. helping with certain problems, developement, and such.

Switching forum names just to post characters for sale, or bids on characters would be a hassle. I think staff are free to do what they wish, as long as JLH doesn't care, you shouldn't either.

Alright basically I have a few things to say...the person both Night and Zephie are referring to is me and I need to set a few things straight. At no point in time did Zephie overstep her bounds in playing her mortal crit. That was her right and she didnt abuse her powers as a staffie. Now that thats out of the way that entire time all I was saying is sometimes I find the PK portion of the game to be annoying if not downright aggrivating and basically I was simply complaining. There was nothing more to that situation. I took a break from the game because it annoyed me but on further reflection I see that basically I will simply have to deal with it...C'est la vie as it were. So Zephie I apologize to you and Night I thank you for backing me up even thought you were a bit mislead. Now I return you to your regularly scheduled post line.
