Title: My Opinion of Clans... Post by Ringleader on 12/24/03 at 06:34:06 I'mma tell you guys what i think of clans whats up. This is my opinion, and if yours is different please feel free to post a response in a CIVILIZED and Semi-MATURE way. Please don't bother responding to this if you're going to pregnant dog at me or something, memo me and we can handle it. (memo Gaddy) If you do not bother to read atleast my whole post then do not even say a frikin thing to me. There is no reason for these posts where people say "we'll duel you to prove we're better!". There are clans that people rarly see or do anything with that have been around longer than most any other clan. They do not repeatedly post things about how they're better than one another. They don't try to yell on and on about #s or about fights with one other clan. All of the good old clans that I see rarely post anything about other clans without it being a response to an attack on their clan. I see the old clans post about room additions, offering to accept new members, and other things about their clans. Not posting nuts about other clans just because they can. Everyone knows I am pals with all of them...as in pretty much every good member of both clans, out of BoD only ppl that i hear are good that i dont know (as in they hit me) are Ste, Heather/Paul, and whoever this Al fella is..never dealt with him i dont think. Plus friends with chairman of Broken and a couple members, friends with DH, the whole clan basically since I started this game with lancaster. Friends with chairmen and women of many many clans..not jsut these 2. BoD has a very large clan, there are some great players and many of my pals in it Ste, Ash, Ryan, Will, DJV, Kat...so on and so forth im too lazy for this nuts..ppl in the clan that are my friends or good players know so..ya thats enough of a list. The sheer number of players makes the clan semi-original. However, that does not make them comparable to TR clan wise. They may even be able to win a clan mosh with 30-40 vrs 20ish. The "quality" isn't such a big thing in a mosh...17 dex is no diff. from 18 until it is really close...a mosh isnt anything of skill of a clan..it is #s, types of crits, # of people on, and so on and so forth. Out of best clans, I would pick TR. I'm not quite new enough to game to be overwhelmed by a large quick forming clan. I thought Illumnati (basically the clan that turned into DA) was a good clan, so was FA. The length of time a clan goes on matters far more than the ammount of members they have, as long as they go on with mostly the same members, and not just pos stuff in there. TR, DH, and Broken would be the order of top clans I would pick. If BoD lasts a while then I would say they are good, but with the # of players in the clan I do not see it staying for a really long period of time, simply too hectic. No offense intended towards the clan's formers, but I do not think pulling 3-5 clans together to make one big ass clan just trying to get ranked #1 is the way a clan should work. The # next to clan rank is neat, every clan works for it, but it shouldnt mean that you tear up a good thing for a higher #. The drive to knock TR down a slot has been around a long time. It has been done (by DA right?). I think clans should be more like TR and DH. Members are selected, one by one, and each must be known fairly well to be accepted by clannies. I'm not one to say hey TR never takes members that piss off other members (hence I was accpeted). They do however vote on things so that it isn't just one or two members who want others. Jen is not the pregnant dog everyone makes her out to be while you're not in TR. She doesn't get her way all the time like people like everyone to think. I think I would know with how often I used to have her mad at me. The entire clan as a whole is completely different if you are in it. As most clans are. Anyway, good luck to BoD...but please do not start posting nuts every time something happens..it is dumb..it is useless..and it just starts gets plain annoying. (and i do realize it wasn't the chairman or a founder who started this post, so i am not pregnant doging at clan as a whole.) Good luck to my homes Port with CdlC. Andy and Randy are also in there so the clan should be pheared plenty. Also Archie, Devout was great...even if you wont let me sit a lvl 10 in clan... -pouting- Rob and Jose with you clan...obviously with you 2 its dangerous... Anyway here at the end I'd like to say again- Congrats to Lady_maha and all the people you're helping come up in game, Jen and everyone else in TR, Crusher, Amy, Bishop, Alone (on forums), and the other members of DH, and the Midnight Thorns. You're the chairmen and chairwomen of the longest lasting clans I know of, also highly ranked i suppose. I think the bonds and friendships that have lasted a long time though each of your clans matter far more than anything else in game. The problem is, a couple people out of both clans decide that one clan is better than the other, then all of a sudden the clans are feuding. I'd much rather have a strong clan who didn't give a d**n about rank than one who was struggling to be on top. It's a game, I play for my friends, not to cause more strife in my life. :) |

Post by Fluffalicious on 12/24/03 at 07:30:35 o.o power and greed? heh I still want world domination! ahh thank god for civilization 3 conquests, the Greeks are down for the count and the Romans are going down next, I can honestly say now that my soul reason for playing this game is for my friends, and my clan. If it werent for them I would of quit by now, well can't forget finally finding a good wife to keep me company ;) anywho, I like your opinion on this Gaddy and a few of the others. We do need less clan2clan drama but alas we cannot solve that so simply, so we just have to deal with what we got and have as much fun as possible o.o |

Yet every time i have ever said that to anyone i get this. "no you dont even wanna try to join them you'll never get in." just because u cant dont mean i cant either. The main thing i hear though is tr is a bad clan they are disrespectful and i also here alot about the members being a buch of @$$holes. But one thing i dont get. Every time i talk to somone from Tr they are very nice. They are great people as far as i'm concerned and i'll think that till they prove me wrong. |

But i dont think they deserve the things people say about them at all. Broken is run a little different but make no mistake we can be just as A$$holic as TR. But that is life if you cant be the A$$holes and stand up for yourselves you will be the clan house dormat. That goes for both this game and in RL. But to clasify someone an A$$hole or a Bisnitch because you tried to get something from them and they stopped you. is stupid and a mistake on your part so think what you will. Merry christams Broken, TR, and outkasts and the many others in game and when this bloody move is finished and me and maha can come back full force may the game begin. |

I hope that all is going well for you.. In response to your comments, here are my own opinions of clans. Clans and those we become a part of are a definate extension of our own thoughts and mannerisms. Each clan that is within nightmist, whether number 1 or number 30, has taken a step toward cementing with others their own philosophys and thoughts as well as beliefs. I know that this is just a game, and that people all play it differently, that is their right. Although the clan that I am very proud to be part of is an enemy clan of many, and vise-versa, I dislike no one out of game. There is alot of drama within nightmist, is part of the game. There are clans that fight tooth and nail each time they pass, that too is part of the game. Draco Honoris fights to protect the innocent, as much as I disagree with pking, and think that the game can be played without it, it is an opposing force that makes the game that much more suspenseful. Some are the "bad guys" some are the "good guys." It all balances out. I am sure that everyone that is part of a clan or runs a clan realizes that there is much more to being in a clan than just a ranked order upon our profiles, the people within our clans and even some out of our clans become friends, training buddies, and confidants. There is pride in being part of something bigger than we are ourselves. Now, I must say that my own opinion of the best clan is biased, Draco Honoris is the only place for me. But, then again, everyone that is within a clan should feel that their clan is the best, regardless of a rank achieved... or they may be in the wrong place. For all the clans and players out there, Good luck to you. The people i hate in clans are the drama queens who think if you say something as a joke in clan chat, go all whack and leave the clan then devote there life to killing your crits. |
