Quests to lvl 30

I've had this idea going for a long time and it makes complete sense. When you get enough xp for lvl 30, you can go to a guild for your class and ask to prove yourself worthy to become an archmaster. For each class there would be a small area that you have to demonstrate your skills and abilities to pass. Once done, you confront an immortal master of your class that teaches you the secrets of becoming an archmaster. It makes more sense than finding a shack in the desert and talking to some old guy. It also challenges the player to use their skills and abilities. Here are some ideas as to what the tests and/or challenges should be for each class.

Fighter: You find your way through an illustrious temple and at the end of it, there is a shadow. To earn your title as archmaster, you must defeat this shadow and prove that you are worthy in battle.

Ranger: Surrounded by thick foliage, you must use your abilities to track a figure through the brush and find your way out. Once out, you are confronted by a wooden door with a round, fruit shaped keyhole.

Thief: In the dark hallways of the mansion, you must slip quietly from room to room trying to find your way out. Traps and riddles lie ahead making your quest perilous.

Druid: You are in a small clearign surrounded by animals. They lead you this way and that, directing you towards the exit. You must become an animal yourself and find the creature which is leadign you to the correct passage.

Mage: The library surrounding you is thousands of years old and full of information. You must use your wisdom to solve riddles and read of the ancient secrets of the past.

Cleric: You fall into a deep pit and are surrounded by undead creatures. You must fight your way out and return to the surface. The goddess will praise you for your devotion.

Paladin: You stand in a battlefield. The spirits of the dead surround you and tell you their tales. You must find a pure spirit to lead you through the waste and to the goddess.

Berserker: You are taken upwards into the clouds and into Valhalla. Your ancestors await to tell you their secrets. You must learn to use your anger and control it. The gods will give you miraculous powers if you prove your valor to them.

These are basic stories that describe the challenges you must face. If you manage to accomplish such feats, you will be rearded by the heroes and legends throughout history and shown your true powers.

These would increase role-playing values and character development. No longer a small task of going out to the desert for a few minutes, but interacting in the surroundings of the character and learning to use their abilities.

The areas themselves would not be very large, maybe 10-20 squares each. Of course descriptions and those things are needed and i'll get on them right away.

Player opinions on this would be nice also. I'm just wondering if this came into the game, would it be hated or revered?

If you want to talk to me further about it, page/memo me ingame, leave a message on here or email me. (email is in my profile)

How intimidating...lol.  Anyway, seems like a great idea if it is created correctly.

I was suggesting having to forage for a fruit that acted as a key.

I think the fact rangers can track without failing, makes that a little weak quest, but besides that, i think this is great

They wouldn't be able to know where they are going, thus having to track to lead them out.

Not all the quests are the same. Fighters don't have track, therefore they wouldn't need to demonstrate their use in it. Rangers and Druids are forest dwellers mostly, so it would make sense to have to make their way out of a dense area by using their track ability.

Well, what I'm pointing out, is that your not demonstraiting anything, because it's autimatic, you track every single time. which will make it a rediculously easy 'quest'. I think unless track gets changed and there's a failure rate, this really shouldn't be in the 'quest'.

I don't know about linking this with the auto-lvl post. Technically you would have to go through perilous quest by yourself to prove your powers as one of the highest skilled of your class. If you call that auto-lvling you must be one hell of a player.

And along with this problem of using the track ability, It would be hard to track the npc/monster/whatever. There would be multiple entities to track and not all lead to the same place. Furthermore, they would move by fairly fast I suppose. That would make you be alert and choose your target quickly. The one reasonable problem I can find with using the track ability is that you can't track monsters or npc's...maybe that could be changed for these quests.

Or you can set it up so that rangers and druids need to follow clues lef by the animals to get your way out this will leave track out of it but yet you are still kind of tracking.
