if connecting on normal port (110) doesn't work, as lots of people have msn have talked with me about this problem, it came down to norton anti virus' email protector blocking all outgoing connections to port 110 as it thinks nightmist is an email server. the reason i'm using 110 goes back to a few years ago when i needed to use a port that went through firewalls etc so people could play with pretty much any setup, since then, norton have decided to monitor 110 a lot more closely, and this has stopped nightmist working. the next client's alternate port option will run on port 500, so this will present a long term fix. a short term fix, is to disable norton's email scanner, connect to nightmist, then enable it again. as long as you don't download email while the email scanner is off, you'll still be safe.
