Boss and weapons/armor?

Crazy thought which would, i think, bring a curious twist into the game: If you attacked a boss with the weapon that, that particular boss dropped, it would deal 0 damage. IE: If you'd attack the Demonic General with a halberd, it'd hurt it for 0 points of damange. This includes Assass, zerk and what other special skills characters may have. AND If you were at a boss whilst wearing armor that boss drops, AC would become useless from attacks on that square, but the rest of the armor would work. IE:If you were at the AM and your thief was wearing a CPA, the 43AC that it gives would be subtracted from your total AC. But, other armor would still work, CR's, SG's etc etc. If the boss item happened to have a mod on it, it would be depleted upon entering the square. All of this being, if the monster dropped a weapon, it'd be immune to its attacks, only because it knows how to use the weapon, avoid the weapon. etc etc... As for armor, the boss that drops the armor knows about the armor, it knows how to bypass its protective elements. As i used prior, The Atrium Monarch. The Atrium Monarch knows the CPA, so therefore it knows its weaknesses, its strength. Nothing would be unequipped, it would all stay equipped. Commets please.

Awesome idea, good job Issy. In addition to the fact that the monster would know the weapon/armor's strengths/weaknesses, it would also give the crits that dont yet have those items a better chance to acquire them.

What if it's a really dumb goblin?... An inbred one... with warts. Really tho, what if it was just a modifier, like lessened damage from a weapon? For example, surely a master fencer is going to understand what an opponent is capable of with a rapier and so forth, and thus, how to react appropraitely? It does make sense in the case of armour, as the original possessor of a piece of armour would understand the proverbial 'chink in the armour', as it is a product of their own devices.

Boss monsters tend to be smarter than your average bear (har har). They would know how to use their own stuff efficiently.

This would only apply to Bosses. And when i said Demonic General, i didn't apply directly to the Demonic General. It also applied to the AM, TK, Malok etc etc... The whole point of this, is to use different weapons/different armor for bosses. Make bosses alittle harder, but alittle more rewarding.

Most the bosses are hard enuff and to not be able to hit/be hit if ur wearing something they drop is not a good idea no reason for it to be put in.

| Theres other weapons you can use as well. Fighters can use Pikes RB Halberds CSoTW BoT's. For everyone weapon, there can be an alternate. If your wearing the armor that boss drops, it won't prevent you from hitting, unless you happen to have a weapon it drops on as well.

I don't like it, I don't understand why you wouldn't be able to use their own weapon against them. What's the reason besides making bosses annoying?lol

I could see maybe less damage, because a boss would be skilled in the weapon he is weilding, thus giving him knowledge to defend against it and its common weilding style. But there is no way anyone can be immune to attacks from a weapon just because they use it.
