becca here.. i have noticed in game many ppl taking the names of deleted crits for the pure purpose of annoying the ppl who want to restore them, in some cases the crits were deleted by a spiteful account partner or whatever... what gets me is that by doing this the original owner loses everything, which isnt fair and defeats the purpose of the restorer, so im suggesting that even if the new crit is over lvl 10, that it gets a free rename when the original owner wants to restore their crit. think of the people who have deleted crits with expensive items and all their gold on etc, with the new people training the crits up(as expected) they lose a lot and in my opinion would make them feel like quitting because of a mean person taking away all that they have worked for. i am just feeling sympathetic for those people as i am lucky enough that it isnt happening to me. Anyway i just thought i would put my two cents in to try and make nightmist a more happy place for everyone to interchange so to speak because so far in my year of playing i have very little to criticise and i want to keep it that way for everyone else. As i said, my two cents, flame if u want.. ur perogative and it doesnt mean anything to me

It was suggested before that once a name's been deleted it's untakable for another month, the case was brought up by Draken Malhavok I believe, and I think JLH liked the idea too.

i mean, about 6 months ago i got the crit Nemesis, but aparently about 3 months before, that crit had existed, and i got flamed by the 'aparent' previous owner, who gave up in the end. why did he flame me, then he had 3 months to get the name back??
i dont think an idea like this shud go ahead, if a crit is restored, it should be under a different name if the crit name is already taken, unless of course the crit is still lvl 1.

yep restored crits needs to be renamed and deleted crit should get all the armor back and stuff that was on it (i'm pretty sure that that info is still somewhere on the server)

a restored character is exactly like it was when it was deleted with one exception, it is removed from the clan (if it is in one).
i have yet to decide what to do about crit restoring where the name is taken and the current owner is of high level.

It could default to example JLH2 when the original JLH is restored. Perhaps with a memo attached saying 'this was a deleted name' please choose another no charge.

I still don't see the point. If someone deletes a crit on purpose, wtf should they get it back? I can understand where it could be deleted due to inctivity, but tht is another issue. I dont see where giving more power to users is going to cause less stress for staff.

ah, but you see, more crits, more players. more players, more happiness because the game is expanding.. and as JLH said on the announcement forum, there isnt going to be serious lag until we get like 500+ users. basically, i love this game and i want to see it expand and this is a way of going about it

I do think that a restored crit should get the name change not the one who got the name when it was free. That is unfair if i wait and wait for a name to come free because it has been the name i have always used in everyother chat house or mud game then i should be allowed to keep it. No matter what reason the crit was deleted. If the person wants it back they will have to then wait untill i leave the game or delete the crit.

Staff also says dont give your password out to anyone. If you do, you got what you asked for.
