Buyable characters? Don't we already do that?
What I mean is buyable characters off the site. Customizable in almost every way, for a price. The only catch is (dognapot will like this), once they die, they stay dead. So you could buy your character and make it all spiffy and actually own a 6-stat. You would also purchase equipment for it, and name it and choose the sex. These characters would not be able to equip items you give to them and they can't unequip the things you bought them. Also, when buying equipment for them on the site, it would be much cheaper. So you could buy a spiked set and a hally for like 50k.
That's basically it. Oh yeah, once they die, the character gets logged off and deleted. Any stuff it had on it is gone (including money in the bank) and will not drop any of their equipment at death.

You can pretty much do that now & you get to keep the crits & all their equptment. Who's gonna spend as much as it costs to buy an arch now for a crit, even tweeked out, so to speak when it could be lost with the first pk? HUGE waste of gold if you ask me.

I like the idea of a mercinary . . . an NPC that sticks to your crit once bought and attacks anything not on your nopk/clan nopk or something (Including monsters) . . .
As for buying custom Characters I don't see much point in this as the idea of the game is to train your own characters isnt it?

well, the only way i could foresee this ever being used if they were bought at only lvl 30. otherwise you'd be stuck using lvl 1 equipment forever?. still, i can't imagine why someone would buy a disposable crit when eternal, fully customizable, crits are free. although, i bet some people would like to buy 6 stat pacifists.
