i thought about a way to get jlh more money withouth getting unfair benefits for the ppl who donate.
i was thinking that you could buy a custom pic for let's say $10 a crit in real money.
this way the game wouldn't be influenced like it would by giving someone gold or exp or weapons and jlh would still get some money.
i talked to jlh and he said it wouldn't affect lag at all.
jlh still has to think about this ofcourse and set the amount of money you would ahve to pay for a pic and all but i thought i would share this with the palyers and c what they think.
only down side i could think off is that former staffers wouldn't stand out in the crowd anymore but it would be in the interest of nm if they could accept this

One problem...If the person wanted to sell the crit they put the pic on, the pic would go with it...Because JLH isn't going to want to switch people's pics around every day I dont think lol.

edit: aah well don't sell your crits i don't don't know a solution to that one but maybe a custom pic would just make a crit more valuable?

I like this idea, but the first time i was passed by Ste, i was running to Arilin as a new player, and it stops my game all of the sudden saying downloading picture...if many people bought pics it'd cause problems because they could buy a pic that wasnt on my computer yet...then be out of town..when i passed them i'd stop to download the picture...they'd have plenty of time to wipe out my party...correct? But i do like that idea (i wouldnt buy a pic, i like the one i have in game already) but i think it'd be a good way for JLH to get a bit of cash for the server, and it wouldnt be like giving out items of any type, gives no advantage to a certain player either...
Edit- What about Ex-Staffers though? their priviledge would be taken...but i guess they got them for free..so i could see it being a bonus or something..

Ok being ex staff i can see both sides, it would gain valuable revenue for jlh but from my ex staff point of view it makes me stand out to have my pic as another suggestion maybe have loads more pics available? increase from say 20 available pics to 50? 100? over time and give people more choice and therefore more individuality.
just another idea, i dont know many other rpg's that allow custom pics.
