Fisherman

In the first square of the Shallow Stream I was thinking maybe there could be a Fisherman. He would be a non-attacking NPC. If you kill him there could be a 20% drop rate of a Fishing Rod/Fishing Pole. He would drop no gold. With the fishing rod you could fish for some fish which you could sell for a small amount of gold (10-20 gp). In the Shallow Stream or any other watery area there would be a pic of water which you would equipt the fishing rod and click the pic of water and it would say something like "You cast the line into the water, but catch nothing." or "You cast the line into the water and catch some Shrimp". The fish could be eaten/sold. There would be a 30% chance on catching a small fish (Like a shrimp) and maybe a 20% chance on catching something bigger (Like a bass or some other large fish).

This was suggested by someone called Roken, i find it quite an intresting idea, and looks cool.

YAY!!!!

Of course there could be areas where you have a 5% chance of picking up some 'treasure' right?

This would be kinda cool... I've wanted to just sit and fish for a long time. Specially once pacifists come out.

The fishing idea has been suggested and it sounds great.  Maybe a trainable skill?  But what's with you and killing!  You evil people!  Why can't the pole just be for sale in the shop?  Why do we have to ruin grandpa's fishing trip?

LMAO I Agree with you there stotic, Grandpa's around the world would be terrified to go fishing to just know their Grandsons, or Grandsons sons would go out and kill a poor defensless old man just to fish and get cash. and Secound it sounds like fun to me, i know i'd always be fishing seeing i would have nothing better to do. Oh and if the pole's are to be sold in shop they should sell for like 12k each  Grin i know i could afford that much when i was a newb lmao.

Ya, all you stupid fisherman!! I'll do hit and runs on you all day. You won't even know what hit you.

Oh, wait. I'll be the one fishing....  Shocked

(Outsider, I'm not saying you do hit and runs. Quite frankly I've never seen you ingame. Well, maybe I have and just didn't know it... But this was not meant to flame. I'm just bored and I apologize.)

We could make it so that the fishing pole can only be equipt in an area with water. And once equipted in place of ones weapon it then makes the person unpkable like a Pacifist.
So they can enjoy a nice day by the lake fishing. catching random weighted fish trying to out fish his buddy who caught the 9lbs. bass the day before.
Some use the gate houses/clan houses to sit and roll or even just chat. This could be another way to clear the gates and bring a lil more peace to the game. Similar to the park in RH only that we actually have something to do other then sit and wait for a song bird to drop poo on our heads.

Maybe we can put the fish in white and red balls, and make them pop out now and then to fight each other, and they can be called 'Magikarp', and then, after enough fights, they turn into a bigger fish called Gyarados, and then you jump and click you heels together, throw your fist in the air and cry 'GOTTA CATCH EM ALL!' ?

Just a thought...

good idea, goes towards something i talked to jlh about in the past, businesses and the setting up of money making enterprises, if pacifists are the only allowed fisherman etc then they could do a days work without people killing them and if the money was worthwhile then could turn it into a business and create more interaction with colleagues. Good idea people i like it, one of those i wish id thought of it myself ideas.

About that mining thing ( didnt want to make a new topic )
u could mine ore then u can make weapons of it and sell them in store, ofcourse this would be a skill that rises when u use it
so that u could not make a hally just like that.
