Look overs...

I got to thinking and thought maybe it would be a good idea for when u look people over you can also see which spells are casted on them. For example.

Alliedassault is a Male Halfling Archmaster Ranger. He looks strong, smart, extremely fast, and sexy. In one hand he holds an Enchanted Bow, which glows with a magical aura, the other a Spiked Shield. He is wearing a Sand Wurm Hide, and a Spiked Helmet protects his head. Around his neck sits an Amulet of Lag Protection. He has a bracelet with the inscription "If only I had another soul to sell to Pandilex I could get the matching earings!" and a bracelet with the inscription "If only I had another soul to sell to Pandilex I could get the matching earings!" around his wrists. He is wearing a Crystal Ring, a Crystal Ring, a Crystal Ring, a Crystal Ring, and Spider Gauntlets on his hands. His feet are protected by Crocodile Skin Boots. He is a Leader (½VÔÐK½WH¡§KÊ¥) of The Resistance and he is in a healthy condition. He is under the effect of enhance.

Just a suggestion.

hmm would only be in the benefit of pk'ers (not to pk (spelled up) or to pk (no spells)) otherwise it's pretty useless Cheesy

Jurian you are missing the point of the whole thing. If it shows if you are hungry or not which is pretty much useless to other people. Which spells you have on would be of greater importance than that.

umm if you're using a cleric and trying to keep someone else enhanced for training it would be very helpful so you can tell when the effects have worn off

I was thinking of this idea last night after playing a mmorpg.  Some way to show yourself or everyone else which spells you have on you.

what does it matter if people pk more than they duel . . . I just made the comment that it would ensure fair duels . . . how many times have you seen people argue that the person they dueled was using spells (and the other person totally denies it) . . . you can sometimes tell if they are using spells unless the person spelled up is a dwarf

You ask so ill speak heh. Ok from what you are saying is that if you pull up onto a group of people while training you look them over. The look over reads He is hungry. Thats great and all but say you come up onto the same group of people and see He is enhanced. For newer players or any player they will know that the person they encountered might be  a threat to them and they can retreat. Noone ever said it was only usefull for pking people. Also like Ashton said when you are training a character and you use enhance it is benifitial. For example, You enhanced you berserker so he hits harder. You look him over to heal him and see he is no longer enhanced.  This allows you to cast the spell and keep him hittting harder. How many times have you been training or moving and your screen clears? the same thing would apply. Hopefully that made sense.

It might not be extremly useful but it would be nice. Although I can see lookovers getting quite long... Depending on how easy it would be to put into the game (I'm guessing it wouldn't be that difficult) I support this idea.

I've noted to discuss the idea with pandilex, personally i'm not sure whether it is a good idea or not. An advantage is that party members can check on each other (as said above) and for fair dueling. A disadvantage is for pk moments, and the fact that i wouldn't have thought you could work out what someone had casted on them from just looking over them.

Unless you are a dwarf it is relatively easy to tell if a character is enhanced; extremely strong is added to the description (for characters with strength 18+ anyway). Granted you cannot distinguish what other spells and how much total strength they might have, but all the same its still useful as it is.

Maybe that’s would make a decent solution though Undecided; Have it so spells alter the descriptions with 21 –26(or something similar) strength being “very strong” and 26+ strength described as “extremely strong”.

JLH can correct me if i am wrong but i think if the game required a description to change everytime someone casted a spell the server would become busier causing it to lag. I think please JLH correct me on this if i am wrong.

nah, the server is insanely powerful really, last time i checked, nightmist used about 3-5% cpu at peak time with 100% every minute for a second or so to process spawning and regular saving and other things.
