Well, I guess I'll tuck straight in.

Peeps in the past have suggested blacksmiths and such as a possible class, and they did not seem to fit. I had a little thought that the 'smithing' skill could actually be brought into the game in a much smaller scale. Blacksmithing would be represented by the term /fuse, and thus, two items would need to be 'fused' to create an item, with a % chance of success, perhaps even dwarves getting a bonus to fuse.

For example:
/fuse Dragons Eye Gem/Long Sword = Jewelled sword
/fuse Staff/String = Long Bow
/fuse Oak Staff/Large Flint = Axe
/fuse Pigs Tongue/Dry Leaves = Healing Potion
/fuse Fairy Dust/Water = Mana Crystal

All classes would be able to partake in the ability, just have the chance to fuse for all classes very low. As for weapons like Halberd and Enhanted Bow etc etc, I would not make them a fuseable item.

Naturally, some certain specific items are more impressive, and thus, the ingredients for the item would be very rare to come by.

You could even put in secret combinations of items, to create something fancy, that would take months to discover.

The blacksmithing skill has just always been sought after by the Nightmist community, and I figured this may be a way to appease the demand.

Have I worded this correctly? I'm not sure. If I can clarify furthermore I will add to this.

I think it's a wonderful idea. Nice answer to the whole "smithing" idea. Very nicely thought out as well.

Not bad. Still, people could use it in... different ways, not the ones we want them to use it. A few would start complaining and others would turn rare items into common ones. But it is still a good idea.

That would be very important. All boss drops should not be "fusable". Neither should most all rare items. If this was not a possibility, then I suggest making the components equally as rare as end produst. This is a very good idea, one that I think should be added to the game. I really like the concept behind this. Good job.

Forget the whole blacksmith class idea, not going to happen.
The only way I can see this idea working is if it would be possible to take items to a shop and have them made into something else, which is a good idea.
