new weapons...

I dont know about any of you others but i think the game may be gettin old since not many new things have been added, one thing i think might liven up this game a bit could be a new selection of weapons.
Maybe we could add a new sword or something ive noticed all the sword suck besides the Christmas Blade, Rune Blade, Blade of Sacrifice, and Blade of Time.  And those four swords are very rare.
Some kind of sword for a cleric or mage would be nice, any of you ever run out of mana and only had like a torch or oak staff, yea bad stuff.
Or maybe a sword stronger that a Hally or maybe a sword that boost your dex?
Who knows if anyone will take this seriously, post what ya think, Smiley

Christmas Blade-I admit, is very rare, pretty sure only 2 in game, but it has the same base as Halberd.
Rune Blade-I think there's only one in the game, but, Blade of Honor has a higher base dam, but rune blade is vampiric.
Blade of Sacrifice-Not all that tough to get, considering it's a boss drop.
Blade of Time-Not tough to get, if you have an arsenal of crits. Not many floating around.
Cobalt Staff of the Winds-2 points lower in base damage, but is vampiric, but also costs an immense amount of gold.

As for a sword that boosts your dex, I doubt JLH would go for that unless it's a quest item and would be one of a kind considering there's already Amulet of Hermes, Amulet of Lag Protection and Spider Gauntlets, which all boost dex. But good luck trying to convince otherwise if you do try. Tongue

Clerics wouldn't be able to use a sword and mages might not be able to either.. it depends on how you think about it. Mages wouldn't be able to weild a sword because there not strong enough, but if you have high strength, then maybe you could use a sword.. im not really sure lol.

Clerics technically cannot use weapons that draw blood.

i think mages should be able to use daggers, knives, rods, staffs, staves, wands, but obviously in the game they can only use staffs.

To have a weapon for a mage/cleric that does some base damage PLUS a spell (lightning or something) for extra damage would be nice, or any number of wands/staves that have spells within them (healing, extra dmg, teleport to local?)

Ohhhhh, an idea. Smiley

Maybe there could be weapons, when you use them, like he said, they do spells. Okay for instance:

Red Wand: Mage flicked a Red Wand at you creating a giantic fire ball for 73 damage.

Wand of *a bosses name*: Mage flicks a Wand of *name* at you dazzling you with her beauty *like hypnotize*

Wand of Hatred: Deals a certain base, ignores all players wisdom. Mage points a Wand of Hatred at you for 51 damage.

maybe they could be in a shop, for expensive ammounts, say 50k each, maybe more.

i beg to differ....any weapon can draw blood. if you dont belive me, try hitting yourself in the head with a mace(a hammer will work just fine for this lil test as well)....fill us in on the results. heh.

i think you mean that they generally use blunt weapons, and in this game as far as i know, only use blunt weapons.

Stotic is right, clerics can't draw blood. There allowed to smash people over the head with a hammer, but they can not use sharp weapons. I'm not sure on this, but I think there forbidden to use them by their deitys/gods.

that's not 'entirely' true.  D&D evolved long ago to allow followers (clergy) of certain deities (usually evil) to used piercing and even slashing weapons.

Such as a diety of shadows (commonly worshiped by thieves, but also clerics) could use daggers.  A god of 'the harvest' would allow its followers to use a Sythe.  Etc.

And sickles. Sickles will probably be put into the game soon.

Clerics and mages can't use swords. Mages should be able to use a few daggers/knives, but not all of them.

It's not necessarily wrong Lyandor, NM can appoint any such limitations, and should restrict cleric weapons to blunt ones unless a Deity system is implemented (in which your chosen deity can over-rule certain restrictions).

Well when putting aside religous specifications, clerics cannot use weapons that draw blood.  Or intended to do so.  Which translates to only blunt weapons and not blades.

Exactly. And even though some think they should, the last thing a cleric would equip would be a dagger.

A sword may be considered a slaughter weapon, but the nearest class to a cleric is a paladin. They use swords as a symbol of justice. Therefore swords may also represent some good.

But a dagger is just a killing weapon. It has no decent purpose at all. (A knife does have a decent purpose, it's a "working" tool)
