slow spell

i remember something like a mage spell pre reset that slowed down stamina regen from the person which it was cast upon. since mages (withouth aop) are easy targets cuz of their low hp maybe this spell could give them time to run or even kill the target

I, for one, support this idea. I don't find it to be that big of a change, but it will help in certain circumstances.

Your just going to have all the nonmages complaing NO and all the mages complain YES. Worthless topic which won't see the light of day back into the game.

Mages do need something, but this spell was way too powerful. instead of regaining -only- 1 stamina, it could -reduce- their stam regen by 1. Say a fighter has 6 stam, normally regens 4, it would regen 3 instead. Well thats my suggestion.

I think that a necromancer would use such spell. Since we don't have necromancers, mages are the best substitutes. After all we got haste, we can get the opposite. And I am not training any mage at the momment.

blah blah blah....mages without aura. Mages with aura could use the spell. Lovely, more balance. Now I am all for mages being able to take apart parties on their own. As they are the most costly, and hard to train. However, I believe that slow is not the way. If slow is brought out, It should replace Devastate, and we all dont want that do we. Then clerics would have to get a revive spell. As Devine Rest. is the counter for Devastate, they would then have a counter for slow. Which then could be casted on people. Revive pre-reset was like this, but then a ranger/thief/fighter/mage/zerk or any class with a cleric casted revive on them would be impossible to beat. So I dont think it's a very good idea. I do like the idea of Necromancers coming back. We need more purely evil classes, but I would like to see the balancing done before another class/race is implemented.

Clerics dont need to get a revive spell, lets say the slow spell only takes away 1 stamina, archy fighters get 4, no biggy; so then we say it lasts 20 seconds, so it isn't that powerfl, just enough time to run without being anhilated or give you the upperhand to kill theml; then we put a high mana cost on it, say 25-40 mana. It wouldn't be to high of a priority on most people lists to use, but could greatly help a mage out that's being attacked.

If you want that how about a spell that stop them regaining a single stamina. For say 30 secs....so its like a paralise spell.

I am more than positive it will be used on more than just fighters and zerkers, leaving other classes to try to fight off a mage with a stamina refresh of 2... yeah, now that's a good idea

lol i was thinking of something like regain just your normal amount of stamina just make it take 5 secs longer so the mage has time to run or try a second attack before it gets killed. i ahve an archmaster mage and well he's pretty useless with his 230 hp and no aop. so i do think mages need something :p

maybe make aop an expensive spell instead of a hard to get spell that you have to pay 600k for?

I'm sure to buy Aop, it would cost you in the region of 500-600k. Making the spells a Guild Buy would be pointless, and agreeing with Tedner Foot, mages would be too good. However I do think when the Devastate boss comes out, it should be exactly the same difficultly as the Enchanter. Otherwise why sould clerics heal for 100+ with an easy to get drop, when mages will find it imposible to get Devastate and do 90 dmg. Otherwise make the both bosses harder.

The area for Devestate is insanely hard, I won't give out any little details for secrecies sake, unless pandilex gives it the O.K.
