I understand how you feel, even if the power goes out for a couple hours.. I'm still pacing around while trying to find something to do.. although there isn't much you can do with flashlights and candles that I'm aware of. If it were 10 hours though, I would've more than likely fell asleep, or would've died of boredom.
I was lucky enough that I didn't get effected by it. I was watching the news.. and.. they had said.. batteries were no where to be found in the stores.. people were buying cases and cases of water (drinking, bathing..etc).. and 2 bags of ice were limited to a person. That had to suck majorly though. Hopefully everyones power will be back on soon enough.
The sad part is, I wasn't even aware of it.. until I read about it on the forums.

Lol.. I happened to be in a retaurant for my moms bday and the power there flickered. I think they went to a generator after that because when I got home my house was powerless. This was at 4pm lol. After 5 hours we decided to run down town and check it out. It's kinda funny when you see what was once fully illuminated constantly emerged in darkness. It was really eerie. The fire departments and police were crawling all over the town. Stop signs litered where traffic lights once were lit. Best part is the fair was in town, it was the only source of light in the whole town.
Its a little past 5:30am now and my clocks are blinking about the same. I guess the power came on about 5 and a half hours ago. 4pm-12pm... 8 hours without power
I managed to light about 12 candles and read a little of a book... but overall I was sooo bored. I talked on the phone a bit (with a cord mind you  - I was missing my cordless..) and finally went to sleep around 11.
