If there was a reset you wouldn't be seeing another Zylia running around that's for sure. I doubt I'd come back. If anything, I'll be paying to keep what I have now (if I do pay).

So, it's official, we will have to pay? If it coems down to it, there better not be a reset.

I just wonder why you would make a text-based game P2P, the only thing that games like these have that the big massiv online games do is a free playing system, if I have to pay for no graphics at all, why not jsut pay for Everquest, Shadowbane, Star Wars Galaxies(very soon) etc etc, you lose your biggest advantage by making people pay to play this game, but do what you have to do.

If you don't like it, don't play it. If you do like it, show your respects and contribute the fraction of what a retail game would cost you when it goes p2p. And then judge which gives more entertainment.

Your gonna make it p2p, people will leave, so you'll have to raise the price making more people leave. That process will continue and you will lose like 80% of your players due to the p2p, and the remaining few will realize they are paying for something they have to imagine and will just go play D&D with thier friends *At least I will* Anyone know any other p2p text games? cause I dont, I know some that wanted to go p2p but simply went under.

I understand what you are saying Pandilex, I'm just trying to put out my points. (You didn't have to remove my post, I was looking foward to people reading it) I mean, it has been said countless times, there is a large vareity of ages of people that play the game. EXAMPLE: Say there is a 9 year old kid who started playing the game and continued playing for a while. Then the 9 year old tried hard and obtained good stuff over time. Then, P2P comes in, do you think a 9 year old would pay to play? I don't, forcing that kid to stop playing and just getting rid of their fun and their stuff they obtained. I'm NOT going fully against this P2P system, depending on the future improvements after P2P is inserted, I might pay to play seeing it's good for the game overall. I wouldn't want to lose everything I have gotten over the long time I've played.

Say there are several hundred players, and if the game doesn't go pay-to-play it shuts down, and they all lose all of their items and characters and everything and nightmist ceases to exist. If you have any better suggestions, then I'm all ears.

Ok, understood. In your important post, you said it MAY be P2P in summer, so right now is it an official yes, or still debating? Also, this might have been stated somewhere else, but... how much will it be?

This subject has been discussed many times now, and I think it's unfair to JLH to leave the burden of paying for the game to him alone, especially since it adds up to over 2000$ a year. Now being a mother, I know I finance a lot of hobbies for my children, and I am pretty sure there are parents out there who are willing to finance Nightmist for their kids, provided it's not too expensive, and those kids don't lose track of rl issues (homework, breathing fresh air occasionally and such).

I've just been wondering, what exactly are the expences here? ISP's? we pay for those too. Domain? those who have them pay for thier own as well. PC upgrades? Same here, we all pay for our own PC upgrades. Maybe I'm one of those who likes the details before they pay for stuff, but it is a good question all the same, and I do remember being told there is nothing to hide. As for suggestions, have you considdered Sponcer ads? You could get a better turn out from people/companies who wish to have thier links on your webspace.
