Is high mana useful for spell users ?

Hey everyone ! I am a newbie and I am considering rolling myself either a Cleric or a Druid. I would like to know if high Wis ( and high mana ) is useful for those classes… Honestly I don’t see how high mana can help a magic user. After all you need to do is drink a mana potion to get your mana recovered, no ? So high mana just means you are going to use 1 less mana pot at best, right ? Or am I missing something ?

Btw is the mana/hp you get at lvl 1 random or is it fixed ?

Its better to get high mana/hp so you can cast more without using crystals. All in all, it will save you money in the long run. Intelligence is only used for mages to determine spell damage. Wisdom is used in all classes to determine resistance to spells and mp gain per level for classes that have mana. The hp/mp at lvl 1 is based on your constitution and wisdom.

Wisdom is important for any crit but even more so for a magic user.  Wisdom is not only your capacity for mana but also your protection against other magic users.  The higher your wisdom the less damage magic attacks will do to you.

Having a lot of mp can be essential.  That few bit of mana could save your life just like you hp.  Plus mana uses are very expensive and if you want to carry pots as well as mana on your crit it can be hard.  That is why just that little bit more mana you have is important.  Trust me, any crit especially magic uses need wisdom.   Cheesy

An elf druid is better than a halfling druid, same with clerics probably.
