...... should be got rid of. All it does is let people steal. Since more people forget usernames than passwords (i know ive lost over 20 hotmail accounts coz of lot usernames, never lost one with lost passwords). People tend to write passwords down and never think about usernames, also paswords can be anything, while usernames you first 50 choices are usually taken already.

I disagree. You could simply have your username as your first name, last name, initials, cat's name, dog's name, hamster's name, etc etc all of which are easy to remember. People often have one username they use for every service on the internet, whereas since nightmist forces a password of 10 characters long or more people often don't have one they use for everything that is this length, so a password retrieval option is highly useful. Consider also that once an account is made, characters may be transferred to and from it, yet the account is always yours - unlike before when e-mail addresses were unique to individual characters. Therefore it's impossible to steal using the password retrieve function because your e-mail address would not have gotten passed on to someone else via a trade or any other means.

I also agree that it should be kept in, and you shouldn't be losing accounts from pw retrieval. As for you never forgetting your password, just don't use that function, some other players may find it useful.
